To be a really good close-up magician you have to be an actor, good with sleight-of hand, good with audience management, good with misdirection, use psychology, good with pocket management, good with trick selection, good with your patter, good with your rapport with people. The better you do these things the better magician you are. David is excellent at all these, that's what makes him one of the best close-up magicians out there.

I'm sure people can figure out how he does many of his tricks, but to pull them off without a hitch every time is as amazing as the magic itself. Then you have his endurance stuff, his frog and fish stunts, dragon fire etc....some of which really would kill just about any other human on this planet if attempted. The only other person I think of in this league is Alex Honnold...but Alex is really easy to figure out that there is no trick--he's just the most amazing athlete in the world.

Never thought I would see it...David is the best dressed in the bunch..then again ...he always looks good. Enjoy his magic...

SPOILER: The slight of hand at 5 mins or so is super classic, called the double lift, Trick starts when he puts the RANCE card on the deck, the deck is upside down in his hand, totally unnatural, but it's because there's a face up eight of clubs. "No the other hand"; it's a distraction, he wedges his finger under the deck, to perform the "double lift". When he lifts the RANCE card he actually flips two cards, that and the 8 of clubs, so the card he puts in Rance's hand is the 8 of clubs. He tells him to put his finger on it to confirm, this is the RANCE card he can't move it now, I've got my finger on it! Then there's a second eight of clubs 1 card below the RANCE card, (which still remains at the top of the deck) which he double lifts again to show it's in the deck, but that's a double. When he finally exposes the RANCE card he dosn't double lift. you see he quickly burried the duplicate 8 of clubs right after the guy was done touching it, and asks the other guy to shuffle --- to make sure he dosn't get caught.

If you slow it down, you'll see that he switches the red card to the clubs before placing it on the guy's palm. He has two 8 of clubs cards in the deck and placed one the the guys palm and then after the switch, he moved the red card on top of the other 8 of clubs already in the deck. You have to slow it down to catch it. He is really good.

They gave away that she was asked to choose a 4 digit number before, so basically he knew the number and pushed them the cards. Pretty obvious, you see David cringe when they said that.

When dude shuffled them cards I was dead

he got 2 8 of clubs and the signed card and when he showed he was actually fliping the first 8 with the signed card at the same time, then he put the first club of 8 in his hand, flip the signed with the second 8 then pretended to swipe them in that fast motion

I have figure out the trick,look when he take the queen of hearts from the guy and when he release it back he place it in the dack he has in his hand and turn it over with the two other cards.....so back in his mind he knows he has the queen of hearts and the guy has the other card,to make sure that the card won't be revieled he told him to put one finger on the card.Then whatch how he quickly turn the card in his hand by turning two cards and take the queen of hearts on top.but he does it very quick

Now I understand the tricks where he asks someone to think of a "special" number, and then those numbers then appear in order. He first forms a correspondence with that person earlier in the night, asking them to think of a number and "write it down" or "take a picture" to prove that the number doesn't change. Later, with a different crowd which has that same person in it, he asks that same person to "think of a special number" again, subconsciously HINTING for that person to recall the one they selected earlier. If all goes well, they repeat the same sequence (which, if he's lucky, he can 'feed' the order out by slipping cards under the top ones which they choose) and therefore he has control over the sequence that he is HOPING the person will pick again (they think they are supposed to pick the same number by calling it the same thing like "special number" even though Blaine doesn't specifically say "the special number from earlier" he just says "pick a SPECIAL number" a second time, like a *wink-wink thing). If all goes according to plan, that original person will think they are part of a long drawn out trick because the magician developed a complex trick which refers back to their choices from earlier in the night. What they don't realize though is that the other people around don't realize that David already knows the sequence... to the other viewers, it all happened instantaneously and david changed the numbers of the cards as soon as they were spoken. If the original person doesn't say something like "WOW, you repeated the numbers I picked an hour ago!" then the trick is extra special for the rest of the audience. And, if the person DOES exclaim something like that, then it's still a somewhat impressive trick regardless. However, he doesn't publish video recordings where the person says something like that as it detracts from the mystique. Even "knowing" how the trick is done, my mind is blown that it executes so flawlessly. I mean, everyone's attention is on the card grabbing and he still feeds them perfectly.
