Lack of fire prevention is a big cause. No one wants to spend the money. Building codes need to be changed. Florida changed their building codes 10 years ago and the newer homes withstand hurricanes UNSCATHED!! But they cost lots more to build.

Aren’t you listening? We got to hold polluters accountable, fossil fuel, and trapped gases. If I had to guess, Newsom will propose a bill to tax these polluting people. @@dunkinherdonut8471 Aren't you listening? CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Warmer and dryer means more likely to catch fire and sustain fire. Maybe you never tried lighting a fire when it was cold and damp.

Forest management: thinning, trimming, chipping, controlled burns etc etc are what we need AGAIN... it's because the money we used to spend on THESE is now spent on foreign interests by the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS... you could ONLY call this situation human created!

You don't clean the forest, and insurance companies only require a small area cleared around their house or businesses. It's all the tall grass that's the major culprit. Oh, and this isn't our first heatwave.

Improved response is clear. Had response been as good as today in 2020 Creek fire, many homes would have been saved. That said, more is needed as fires will increase each year as we continue to warm.

Newsom did release many inmate firefighters early. These inmate firefighters cut fire line on fires in the summer, and cut fuel breaks in the winter.

Climate change is real but the big problem is people building in areas that really shouldn't be developed. I'm not surprised the big insurance companies pull out.

Desr Newsom the real reason is not foddil fuel based vlimate change.The real cause is totally fifferent. I have sent letters to proffessor Brad Udall and Noaa on 8/7/2024.It may reach thier hands after two weaks. I know the real reason.
