The chandan which is being talking about in this movie is not Sandalwood but it is Redwood, also called Rakt chandan because of its dark red colour. It is a very expensive wood only naturally grown in Seshachalam forests of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, India. This wood is being used to make high end and high value musical instruments, furniture, etc. It's also being used in medicines, cosmetics, toiletries, etc. These things are also being said in this movie itself.

Chandan is sandalwood, which is aromatic wood used in various products and also its oil is highly useful. Quite expensive, around 16000 Indian rupees per kg. 👍

It is not chadan/sandalwood it is rose wood and it grows only in this part of south India of all of world. It is highly valued in worldwide but more specifically in south east Asia.

This song was shooted in my home town in Andhra Pradesh. I didn't watch film yet due to busy my schedule. Thanks both of you, now I saw this song. Small Red Sandalwood scripture in Singapore, china, Japan, etc cost around 10 lakh rupees. So far lakhs of crores of Red Sanders smuggling business happened in my state from seshachalam forest to the international market through sea route.This is illegal because it is anti social element to the nation as it comes under the subject of wildlife and environment of the nation as mentioned in the constitution. One should protect forests and be a good citizen.

Pushpa entered into the syndicate of smuggling the red sandalwood. And the movie (on Amazon, Hindi version) started with the animated story why red sandalstone is the super expensive affair. It's only one part, red samdalstone is rare and precious. Later on Pushpa started leading the syndicate - Jhookega Nahii.

Chandan puja karne waqt kam ata hai . Pathhar mein usko ghis kar ek paste type banaya jata hai jo bhagwan ko aur sraddhaluu o tika jaise diya jata hai . Aur yaahan jo red sandalwood ke bare mein bola ja rha hai usko various musical instruments aur furniture ke kam ata hai . Puja ke liye bhi use kiya jata hai

It's not sandal wood. More costlier than that red sandal wood. It's very expensive used to make sitar like musical instrument. They are gifted to bride during marriage in Japan. That is what they showed in movie. Even its powder is also smuggled.

That's the very rare costly Red wood. Which were cut and illegally transported bet'n AP and Tamilnadu. Big racket many powerful ppl were involved but got busted and encounter of smugglers too caught the attention.

The wood being smuggled is not sandal wood but it is red sander (Pterocarpus santalinus).
