You would probably do the same if you came from somewhere like Venezuela. Most Mexicans are here legally and they make up a massive fraction of the city's economy with the 2nd highest grossing street in the city being the mostly Mexican 26th st, second only to the Mag Mile. It's not a great replacement at all, the vast majority of them want to become normal Americans just like millions of immigrants have in the past/present/future. It's what the US was built on, but we've gone backwards and made it harder for a lot of them to enter legally so reap the consequences
