The Next Gen Destruction Toolkit is a simple-to-use framework for integrating Chaos Destruction into your project. It provides easy to use data asset-based definitions for destructibles that allow self-contained responses to bullet impacts, breaking, trailing etc. This allows a user to very quickly create a destructible and populate its behaviours with realistic breaking behaviour, particle effects and sounds.

This is insane even as vfx artist who runs a gaming channel, I'm really impressed by this and it reminds me of the Matrix lobby scene, which is funny how they used the Matrix to promote unreal 5 not too long ago. Anyone else remember?

Wow. What an incredible tool! I literally assumed $150 minimum. no excuses for devs or creatives not to get this and make life 10000% easier when dealing with chaos

🤫shut up, shut up!🤫 lol, jk, Chaos in Unreal isn't that complicated, but it can be time consuming. So I agree it could be a good "quality of life" asset.

Great job dev, hope you continue improving this with every engine release. Probably more examples, separate vfx asset that is complimentary to this or collab with other artists. By the way this is cheap for what it offers.

Thanks! That is the goal - to continue to add more features and assets! And I'm glad you're happy with the pricing. The price might rise slightly in the future when there are significant additions to the asset, but I want to give people value for their money and for them to be rewarded for supporting version 1 (everyone who purchases receives all future updates)

If I wanted to make a landscape terrain and get the same results which plugins would I use on the new editor build? Ive seen voxel and have messed with it a little bit. Are there any built-in ones?

Is there a way to convert Chaos Ge Collection to static mesh. For instance destroy some stuff, then be able to use it as set dressing as merged static meshes. Your plugin looks awesome.

May seem like a dumb question, but could this be used for a resident evil type item pickup management where the player could destroy boxes, barrels, vases and drop items after breaking ?

Hi Kris, thanks for the video. can you please make the ui font larger nex time. It's hard to see anything. Unreal Engine editor, Tool->Debug->WidgetReflector , you can change the font size. thanks

That is a particle sprite - but it is using 6-point lighting renders to take into account the direction of the sunlight so it can adjust the shading and look three-dimensional. I have done some testing with SVTs and I'm planning to make an example with it at some point in the future. I am not sure SVT is fully production ready at this point, but I'll be working on an example, probably alongside some other pre-baked stuff!

wow. hey will this work in cinematics? can we do anything with this using the sequencer to then render pls? this is insane... i will buy this right away if it supports cinemartics. am not a game dev person and i do nothing game related. Only movies with unreal, please advice

You should easily be able to spawn a projectile during the timeline in sequencer and have it strike any of these objects yes.

Settings are almost completely unreadable on 1080 screen -> that segment of video becomes pointless 😥 You can increase UE's editor font size in Widget Reflector - just to make it legible for the video Edit: same goes for the getting started video 😱 I mean its passable here, in trailer, but its really hard to see what you are actually doing in step-by-step guide) The toolkit itself is beyond impressive, hope its gonna gain traction and we'll see projects utilizing it

At the moment replication has not been set up, but it's at the top of my todo list . I'll be investigating how much work it will take this weekend :)

I downloaded your project and directly packaged it with an error: LogInit: Display: LogEngine: Error: Failed to load '/Script/CommonUI.CommonGameViewportClient', falling back to 'GameViewportClient'

This is from a config I overlooked when disabling unused plugins, my bad. To fix it go to Project Settings -> Engine -> General Settings and set 'Game Viewport Client Class' from 'None' to 'GameViewportClient'. This will also be fixed in the next update.

Hi, sorry to hear you're crashing, it's possibly related related to a Niagara Chaos bug. Try this from the docs: 'Some users have reported crashes when exiting play mode. If this occurs try opening NS_Chaos_DI_Wood and NS_Chaos_DI_Concrete and on all of the emitters, untick ‘interpolated spawning’. This seems to fix it based on feedback I’ve received from a helpful Discord member. Interpolated spawning will be off by default on them in a future update, to avoid this issue.'

Everything works with 5.2 except for a bug with Nanite, which affects it visually so I couldn't fully support it. But the 5.1 version will open and run in 5.2. Here is more detail from an answer I replied to on the store page: "Hi, I omitted 5.2 because there is a bug I encountered with Nanite on Geometry Collections not interpolating piece motion properly, which affects how the pieces look in motion (stuttery). You can open the 5.1 version in 5.2 and everything functions the same otherwise. Due to that visual bug though, I can't officially support 5.2. If I can find a workaround for the bug I will add a 5.2 version"

I put one of your GC's into one of my levels. Tried to save it and it locks up the project. I see no hope. Will you tell unreal to give my money back. I don't see anyway to get the refund myself.

Did you follow the migration guide from the docs? If you send me a message on Discord I can help you troubleshoot. Marketplace still says 'Network Replicated: No' so thats a negative for us multiplayer devs that would like to try unreal engine.
