A little expensive bags for me. I make all sorts of bags (Go, Get Home, Sere, & Bug Out) I normally use 2 Mil clear zipper Bags easier for seeing what all gear in inside. They are waterproof and the Distibutor claims. "UV" Proof. I get these depending on the size for approx. 12 for $6.00 Awesome video as always Randyv

Nice bags, but I find zip lock baggies work well for me. They are waterproof. They are cheap. If one breaks, I just get another. Just my two bits.

Kit bags are a must have in my opinion. Stuff can happen suddenly out in the wild, so you want to be able to access what you need quick. The biggest thing is being able to get out a tent or tarp when bad weather springs up. Plus segmenting your gear helps keep you from forgetting something.

Another item I have purchased on Luke’s previous mention…..they’re great. A little pricier than other options, but buy once, cry once, and remember that these are being hand made in the USA. I also grabbed they’re Food Rehydrator “Cozy”, which is a lot like an insulated lunch bag. It keeps dehydrated meals warm and “cooking” in the colder months which is awesome and it does double duty as a padded bag for my stove set. Thanks Luke for turning me onto Pack Back!

A fellow AT thru hiker I travelled with refused to use any stuff sacks lol. She had a foodbag, but that was whatever bag the grocery store had when resupplying. It was chaos, and that was the trailname we gave her. She made it all 2185.4 mls.

When I was still a little twerp, a neighbor gave me an old Boy Scout manual. I still recall an axiom from that tome. “A successful pack is made up of many small packs.” I’d guess that this was a truism way before Hannibal crossed the Alps. Most of human existence was in the Stone Age. Bushcraft dances around the edges of that. Often, with a Bic lighter in our pocket. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

Luke is so good at reviewing products that thousands will watch a review about bags with baited breath and then go purchase said bags. We have all bought several items based on his reviews, however more importantly the things I haven't bought because of his reviews has saved me a lot of money.

UL very useful bags nice! Thanks again Luke, great work and well spoken. Will try to get these ordered. PS to UL: Im testing now the Durston X-Mid1 and 2 and X-Mid1pro and the Kakwa 40 pack. (i know hype and blabla, but the construction is very nice and i was impressed before i knew this tent hypes in the US) Im hiking the Swiss-Mountains and set the tent above our tree-line that means around 1800 to 2500 meters above sea-level. As far as i can tell these tent are very capable to handling winds. I mean, the shift-winds in the morning and evening are no problem, even 40km/h winds are no problem. The rain until now also no problem, long light and moderate rain. Hard rain and winds up to 60 km/h are up to test .... oooON! But i must say testing in the mountains needs some good physical and mental condition so it maybe takes a wile, to get all the parameters in place.

Gee Luke, this is the first time that I have seen you so supportive of a manufacturer. I know that you say you don't get paid to review stuff, but you sounded like a real cheerleader for these bags. I have been using mesh bags from Kifaru for years, so I agree that bagging stuff helps keep it organized, but you are super keen on these bags.

I wish there orange bags for fire, red for first aid. The blue works good for water, green for gear, gray for food for example. If someone is injured everyone knows to grab the red bag and for fire the orange and so on.

Nice review. I had been wondering about their products. I personally like the gear from Hilltop Packs because of how customizable they are. I have a poop kit with a 💩emoji, an electronics kit with a 🔌 emoji, and a med kit with a ⛑ emoji on it. Also have a food bag and a ditty bag with custom printing on it. Do I really NEED that level of organization? Not really, but its fun.

Hi Luke, I know that this is about Kits bags. I have a question, Have you ever taken someone out backpacking or just camping that was afraid of the dark / being out side in the woods and scared to death to the point they were crying. Yes it happened to me. I didn't know they were afraid of the night and the noises. I ended up taking that person home. Here I found out they were only day camping and when it starts to get dark they expected to go home. When I figured out he was serious, it was dark and started to sprinkle. I tried to assure him nothing wood happen and there wasn't anything out there to harm us. I always carry a side arm S&W 44 mag which I don't normally say I have one. I ended up letting him sleep in my tent. At 12:30am I ended up taking him home. His father answered the door and we had a long talk while the boy went to his room. His dad didn't know this about his son. A week later I get a phone call from the boy wanting to go camping again with me. I explained to him that I would not take him home if he got scared this time. SO the big camp out was here and what I did was put his tent right next to mine so we could whisper. I would here what was that? Oh I think it was a deer walking though the wood or a coyote. Once a Barred Owl started hooting and I got a surprise in he knew what it was. He managed to fall asleep. He made it through the night. He goes overnight camping now but without a friend with a real big gun.

Hey i was looking at a tent on Amazon. If you have the time “GEERTOP Ultralight Bivy Tent for 1 Person”. I was specifically wondering how much room is there actually for my feet and ground pad. I don’t mind the extra weight so i carry a self inflating pad. Other reviews seem to skip this aspect of the bivy/tent

Hi Luke! Another excellent video, as always. So, I noticed that you were using the Sterno brand fuel and it made me wonder... 🤔 I use the MSR fuel but does it matter which brand to purchase?
