They are the Metal Queens "in prom dresses, lol" If you love harmonized guitar play, with Lovebites you're going to get more than your fill. Midori and Miyako are the best I've ever seen in rock and metal. Next - Hammer of Wrath Live from Knockin' at Heaven's Gate

@@teckreactions Hammer of Wrath, Judgement Day, and A Frozen Serenade, are all good recommendations. Although the fanbase can be a bit sensitive (like crying about prom dresses and reactors labeling them power metal), the band is definitely worth reacting to. Lots of good stuff.

Phenomenal band. Midori (light hair) is demonstrative, Miyako (Dark hair) is usually stoic and plays effortlessly (and some intricate riffs). They both shred at an elite level. The 2 contrasts play off each other seamlssly. In 5 decades of listening to metal they are 2 of the best dual guitarists I've heard ever.

Another Great reaction to the Ladies of Lovebites. Yes, they DO rock our faces off in PROM dresses, and no 98% of us are not offended, on the contrary the elegance, charm and beauty combined with the sheer awesome metal music is why I like them so much.. It's a wonderful change from the usual tattoos, leather, black and testosterone stink that is synonymous with metal. Every band have their fanbase sadly with one or two rabid bad apples who are never happy. Unfortunately Lovebites has more than their fair share. Don't worry about it, you just do you, don't change a thing, the humour is good. For a certified Masterpiece of a song, take a look at A frozen serenade live next for another side of these amazing Ladies. Best wishes from France👍🤘🇨🇵

Prom dresses for the win. HOLY WAR has perhaps M&M’s best pair of solos. Each is expertly crafted, highly melodic (one can sing along), and flawlessly executed. And I don’t know if I’ve even heard synchronized sweep picking before. Next, you want SET THE WORLD ON FIRE, BREAK THE WALL, RAISE SOME HELL, THE HAMMER OF WRATH, and THUNDER VENGEANCE. (Are you sending a theme here?) If any of that becomes overwhelming, take a deep breath and turn to A FROZEN SERENADE or THE EDGE OF THE WORLD to regain your composure.

For me the "best" solos are maybe in "When Destinies Align" because on the one hand, that was the first video i ever saw from them, but then also its like it never ends, just one riff after the other and then the next, and then even more .. also when the camera circled around them, standing back to back .. was just soo epic for a first impression.

Wolfpack surrounding the camp. I HIGHLY recommend live versions. These ladies are epic live. Break the Wall Winds of Transylvania (VLADLOVE version first, then the live version to catch all the stuff you didn't realize you missed until you see them do it) Raise Some Hell Stand and Deliver (studio version first, then live) Set the World on Fire Hammer of Wrath There is so much amazing stuff in their catalog and the live versions are studio perfect. If you think THIS bass is great (and Miho is both a founding member as well as insanely talented) check out Fami, the 'new' bassist in an old video from before joining the band. Look up Alien alien bass cover. I have not found as amazing a metal band since discovering Metallica and Megadeth. --signed, Old AF metalhead guitarist from the 80's 😂 🤘😎🤘🎸

I'm all good with "Prom dresses", but we live in the age of snowflakery, which makes me glad to be in the 4th Quarter of my personal game and not willing and obliged to follow every foolishness. In regard to Miyako, classical pianists are very much into keeping their composure and restraint. Additionaly, she got a monster of an effect board lying in front of her, with a lot of pedals, she uses to control her effects, so she probably doesn't like to be too far away from it. I think, on her own YT-channel she presents it and shows how she built it.

Great reaction as always. I would go to The Hammer of Wrath live at Knockin at Heaven's Gate. It features their new bassist Fami and was her first performance with the band and her first performance in front of a large audience. Some songs are performed live in upgraded versions from the album versions. I think they are breaking down and evolving many of the stereotypes surrounding heavy metal (female band performance ability, metal classification, quality of live performance, costumes, etc.). P.S. The Dark Haired, Long Dress Guitarist (Miyako) began Classical Piano at age 3 and still practices daily (The Grand Piano in background is not for show). Classical Musicians are taught to look as if whatever they are playing is easy, so a lot of the time that is the stage presence Miyako adopts (there are a few live songs where you do see her break the stoic expression).

Thanks for the reaction. I don't think fans were offended when you said white prom dresses. LOVEBITES proved that good metal can be played in beautiful white dresses. The ladies consciously made their choice in favor of white dresses. This is their stage image. When the ladies created the band, they carefully thought through everything (appearance, musical concept, etc.). Their music is rooted in old school metal (New Wave of British Heavy Metal of the 1980s). The White Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES. In Japan, the last wolves became extinct more than 100 years ago. In Japanese tradition, the wolf is a protector of people who warned them about natural disasters .The cover of LOVEBITES' first studio Album, 'Awakening from Abyss' (2017), depicts a Goddess in a white dress and a White Wolf. The idea for the Аlbum cover belongs to Miho (bass), the founder and leader of the band. The meaning of the title of the Album 'Awakening from Abyss' and its cover: "A Goddess standing on the ruins of a destroyed world preparing to give birth to a new World (the World of Metal)." All Albums, EPs, DVDs/Blu-rays and other releases of LOVEBITES (except the first 'The Lovebites EP') feature an image of a Wolf (or Wolves). This symbolizes that by playing a non-mainstream metal genre, LOVEBITES are the Lone Wolf of the modern metal scene. LOVEBITES are the Wolves defending the traditions of old school heavy metal. They try to preserve the best that the great metal bands of the 1980s and 1990s created. And give new life to metal, developing the traditions of the old school of heavy metal. That's why the 2021 Live release of LOVEBITES is called 'Heavy Metal Never Dies'. The song 'Holy War' has the words: We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers ... We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters ... We are one for all and all for one forevermore ... Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal ... The song 'Holy War' from the third Album 'Electric Pentagram' (2020). In Eastern philosophy, the Pentagram has a positive meaning. It has nothing to do with the Devil. The Five rays of the Star determine the basic parameters of the Universe (Five Elements, ect). But this is a separate topic. The cover of the Album depicts a Pentagram (Star) and a Wolf. The CD depicts a Star and Five heads of Wolves (between the Five rays of the Star). Five rays = Five Wolf heads = Five members of LOVEBITES. The Pentagram with Five Wolves is a protective amulet. Why ladies in white dresses: - White Wolf - the band's mascot. - Their decision to wear all white is based on the contrast with their heavy music and makes LOVEBITES stand out from other bands. - All the ladies are short. Haruna - drums (4'9"; 1.45m) , Asami - lead vocals (4'10"; 1.47m), Midori - guitar (4'11"; 1.5m), Miyako - guitar/piano (5'2"; 1.58m), Miho - bass (5'1"; 1.55m). White dresses make them more visible on the stage of a large hall during concerts. - Ladies want to remain feminine even though they play heavy metal. White dresses emphasize femininity. LOVEBITES (January 1, 2024): “2023 was the ‘Year of Resurrection’ for LOVEBITES, and we will follow it with our first World Tour. The title of the Tour is ‘THE THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE’, which has the same meaning as the Japanese proverb ‘Ai to nikushimi wa kami hitoe’. We understand that in the world of heavy metal, where most bands consist of men dressed in black, LOVEBITES, an all-female band dressed in white, is even more of an outlier in the scene, and that some people may not respect us. That is why we want those who have shunned us in the past to see us on stage and enjoy our performance during this World Tour. The proverb from which the tour title is taken from originally meant that love can easily turn to hate, but we purposefully took this as a paradox and selected it for the title."

Virtually every first reaction to Lovebites, the comment is made about prom dresses or wedding dresses. I can only imagine it was a new fan that got bent out of shape over that. Anyone with half a brain in their head knows that is going to be the first reaction. They dress differently for a reason. Almost all metal musicians dress in black, they are doing it different. They are keeping their femininity while rocking at an epic level. They are not trying to be one of the boys. Band Maid is the same. Great costumes that are feminine.

And like Stairway, it's a very good song. That being said, peeps who listen to a lot of Lovebites songs will tell you it's usually not their favorite song by them. It's an excellent introductory song for them to see what they do. But to me, just like with Stairway, I can think of maybe 5-10 songs I like better. Yes! Miyako is a classically trained pianist (she started at age 3) and was on her way to become a professional classical pianist, but around 20 she picked up a guitar and has since become this unbelievable metal guitarist too. In earlier performances, she was more animated, but apparently, she & Midori (other guitarist) decided to develop different on-stage personas and she's much more comfortable with the stoic appearance. In her personal KZfaq sessions, she's really sweet and warm, with a lovely smile. But if you want to see that white grand piano (that you can see on the side) in action, definitely check out the link referred to above. There are different versions of their Swan Song performance available, but the one above has the piano intro with Miyako playing a Chopin etude. Miyako also wrote the song that goes with it (and Asuna wrote the lyrics). It is a masterpiece! Other songs that are not as power/heavy metal as the two you've done so far (they're still metal songs, just somewhat different), but are definitely also amazing are: Frozen Serenade: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d8too7SH2pO2fmw.html Edge of the World: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kNhpbKVlt9zFfZc.html (As a former member of a worship band, I think you'll really appreciate the words of "Edge of the World". Every performance by LOVEBITES, studio or live, is a tour de force. There is no bad song, no bad version of one and 54 more plus several live variants of them by which you can assess my judgment. Personally I think that there are two contenders for next song, both live. “A Frozen Serenade” from 2021 (note…farcical Covid restrictions in force) or “Swansong” from 2020 (specifically the version that includes the Chopin Revolutionary Etude prelude). The first explains vocalist Asami’s graceful arm movements in face melting songs (it isn’t one of them) and the second explains why stoic guitarist Miyako isn’t stoic….just very focused on the job in hand. Others will tell you that not only the Chopin Prelude but the “better mix” distinguishes this particular version. I respectfully disagree. Chopin? Yes, Mix? No… the most recent version is intentional and true to the wishes of the band and original studio version.

Great video, thanks, and it's good to see you finding your feet with Lovebites!! Miyako is a very concentrated, perfectionist of a performer but if you were to see any of the videos on her own channel you would see that she is actually very personable and funny! The contrast between her and Midori's styles is part of what makes them so great together....and if you like harmonized solos, you have definitely got the right band! For a ballad-gone-prog song try Edge Of The World, next, or for a more 'thrashy' sound try The Hammer Of Wrath from their Knockin' AT Heaven's Gate, DVD. Cheers for the journey!🤘

Bassist/Miho-san ・・founder and core of LOVEBITES. She already left the band 、but her spirit remains the band. Drummer/Haruna-san・・ Her looks like the mascot、but her stamina is crazy. Her playing like this for the entire 2 hour show. Black hair guitarist /Miyako-san・・She looks cool、but her heart is warm and kind. She is group’s musical source. Blonde hair guitarist/Midori-san・・She is "The professional crazy shredder and performer " Beautiful vocalist/Asami-san・・She has great voice、but her strongest point is her beautiful heart and her positive power that drives the band.

I'm not offended by prom dresses, but I like 'heavy metal princesses' more. 😁 "Holy War" is more on their power metal side, song #2 at this 2020 show, and was my intro to the band. Song #1 ,"Thunder Vengeance" is a thrash leaning song. And if you want to meet the new bassist , Fami (co founder Miho is seen here on bass), then check out "Judgement Day" from the Knockin At Heaven's Gate 2023 concerts.

Sorry for this, but as a none USAian, I do need to ask, What the F%*K is a prom dress ?? I keep hearing the term thrown around on USA based channels, but I have no idea what it is. I'm assuming it is some kind of elaborate dress worn by women for some special purpose or occasion , but that is only a guess. I've always thought of the costumes worn by Lovebites on stage as being a 'Greek Goddess' inspired look, except for Midori who has a full on Amazon Warrior thing going. She looks as though she belongs on the set of Wonder Woman 😁

And yes, for me its greek goddess style, just watch them play "Speelbound" which is even about Medusa, so it all makes sense. Btw.: nice to see somebody else meanwhile also uses USAians instead americans. It just makes more sense, i mean Mexicans are also americans, and can you believe good old Trump also means them with "america first" ? 😄

thanks for coming right back to Lovebites. Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Their tiny bassist even growls at key moments. They’re scheduled to release their new album “Born Again” on June 28, and it’s a banger. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. They just posted a video single from the album: “Still Burning” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rJ2FgrdzptqumGQ.html

In regards to your prom metal comment - you also titled the video - "Can we call this prom metal?" Which is the first thing anyone sees when searching for the video on your channel. If the comment was just buried in the video, it wouldn't have received so much attention. But putting it front and center is probably what upset the fanbase. I personally don't get upset by something which was clearly said in a non-serious, just for fun way. Others took it differently.

If you want to go to the next level with Lovebites then react to Swan Song, in this song they blend classic and metal seamlessly, Beware that you react to Swan Song WITH Chopin Intro in the title. This one includes fantastic piano playing on the white grand piano that you saw in this clip. The stoic dark haired guitarist Miyako who makes it look so effortless on guitar is a concert level pianist, she learn to play the piano from the age of 3 but later she decided she wanted to go into metal music. Nowadays she does recitals too with metal songs in a classic piano style. Here's the link for Swan Song with captions too; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jaiYp9SYzr6pcWg.html

@@randomchord Pregnant Miyako played at all concerts of the 'Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021' (March - April 2021). On 'Heavy Metal Never Dies' this is not so noticeable: the darkness on the stage, the guitar in front masks the pregnancy. People who don't know about her pregnancy may not notice. But if you watch the video on Miyako’s channel ( 'Let me introduce the brand new MYK Studio', April 3, 2021), her pregnancy is noticeable. The two guitar players have deliberately contrasting stage personas. Miyako is very much the traditional Japanese woman: black hair, modestly dressed, stoic demeanor. Midori is Gyaru, which is pretty much the opposite of that (and I'd argue it's a particularly Japanese form of punk). I wouldn't say it's the reverse of their off-stage personalities, but Midori's social media presence is generally a bit more serious, with a lot of focus on her other passion, competitive bodybuilding, while Miyako is a bit more relaxed and friendly, generally about going out to various places, or geeking out about gear in her home studio.

In the comments, a troll can start “dialogues” or disputes between his own accounts. To draw more attention to what he wrote. It is quite possible that these were his comments. He also often insulted those Reactors who spoke well of LOVEBITES. A lot of Reactors blocked him on their channels. But the troll regularly creates new accounts. I wouldn't challenge fans to move on. The Jband fans usually like and support all bands just like the bands are very supportive of other bands.
