The Kudmi community is demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status and the inclusion of their language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. The community had been sitting on protest in the Junglemahal areas of West Bengal and parts of Jharkhand. Watch the full video for the complete overview.

Sir, we descendants of people who were taken from present day Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh to Assam are also eligible for ST rights in Assam but still not granted Scheduled Tribe rights in Assam.
