I have seen a few excellent reviews by other reviewers on these new Nexx helmets but you knocked it out of the park. Awesome job, as always! As I said elsewhere, I have a Nexx X.WRL (colour scheme Atika White/Red) and I truly like this helmet. I wonder whether it will stand the test of time, because I am not too sure about the resistance of the plastic bits that hold the lining in place but, so far (I've had for some 2.500 kms only), it has been great and since I bought it with a great discount I could not be happier. Being Portuguese myself, I am quite proud of this company as their efforts over the years to improve their products have clearly paid off: I used to think only of Shoei or Arai, when it came to considering a new helmet, but Nexx has jumped to the top tier. Thank you!

Nice video! I envy those for whom weight is not an issue. I get headaches even just with heavy sunglasses! With the new 22 06 standard, I found the Klim Krios Pro and the Scorpion Carbon 1400 among the lightest and most comfortable helmets.

Excellent review, I'm about to replace my current lid, and the Nexx is on the list. I was just wondering if there is any way to recycle old helmets. I have a few kicking around and getting in the way.

My Caberg Drift had the same pin lock issue and the visor shape is similar also a 70 rated one. Pin lock 120 made a big difference for me

Hi John. Thanks for the helmet review. Just wanted to say I tried Calimoto with various levels of success. I live in England but close to Wales, but it wouldn't do trips in Wales because its a different "region" and now the free trial has finished it wants a lot of money to keep it 9.99 per week! Another problem is my works phone is android and personal phone apple.

I was looking at Nexx before christmas and SBS suggested I look elsewhere due to Nexx QC. Nexx, at the time, had the highest return rate of all the lids they sold. Maybe this new one is better but only time will tell that. I finally ponied up the dough and bought an Arai ADV and Shoei Road pair of lids.

I like your videos. They are informative and detailed. Having said that, I miss a proper review part in most of them. I see them as ‘introductions’ rather than reviews. What is most interesting for me is how gear perform over longer stretch of time. It’s so hard to find any reviews that exploit that area. Another thing that I miss is fair comparison of the quality across different brands of the same product - helmets in that case. I have been using a Nexx helmet for 5 years now (X.Wed2 Carbon) alongside Shoei GT-Air for 10 years (just replaced with a new one) and a Hornet for one season. Let me offer a review bit in here. In my opinion Nexx has not been even close to Shoei in terms of quality. Venting has proved to be worse than that of a Shoei Hornet adding rather noise than a decent draft of a fresh air. Lining deforms only after couple of thousands of kilometres/ miles causing the lid to be less and less snug in the course of one season. It also took only 2 interior removals until some of the mounting brackets got ripped off from EPS. Nevertheless I liked the lid for the longest peak available on the market so I went to check X.Wed 3 out. What a disappointment it was to find out that the lining was coming off from brand new helmets and that they were the same as in previous version! I can only expect the same quality shortfalls I experienced so far. It’s really not important if something is made by hand this or that way or how many creative solutions it offers. At the end of the day what matters most is if it lasts if taken on a tour for a week. And Nexx just doesn’t. You can easily attach a camera but lining comes off every time you take off the lid… Peak drag? There is no such thing with Hornet comparing to what you need to endure with X.Wed on. To wrap it up - I’d love to see more scrutiny in your reviews to be able to learn these kind of stuff. I hope that makes sense. Cheers.

Great review. If you already have an intercom, that new location is ripe for an aftermarket clip to allow your Cardo or Sena to mount too. It’s standard position is horrible.

did you have tendenci to close your front vents when you wanted to open the visor?

I have just bought my third Nexx helmet, really impressed with them, very comfortable and quality for the price. Just wish for more UK suppliers. Had to pay taxes for delivery... But I would buy another when it's time to replace it.

I've been looking for reviews on the XWST3 for the street on my RS, I have a shark spartan GT pro but it's getting loose so I want something more snug for summer with good airflow.

Hi nice review. Anyway, how easy is it to wear your glasses in there? My dealer says the Wed3 is glasses friendly but not the Wst3. However you seem to use both of them with glasses in. are the helmets the same for glasses insertion or is it easyer on one?

On my Wed2 if it mists up it's because the pinlock has moved. If I push it up the visor it solves the problem.

I like my XWed2 except for the chocolate visor/peak fittings which were liable to snap, but it looks like they have a much improved method on this upgrade. Should be a good choice with the premium liner materials too.

Looks a good helmet but what would u think of this against an Arai X5 or Klimt Krios as I’m looking into these at the moment

I’m surprised the fibreglass and carbon are so close in weight. Seems the main advantage is aesthetic….i wonder if their carbon construction is similar to other top manufacturers. Does look like a great lid though.

John, like myself you’re a spectacled (or is it spectacular?) chap. Personally, I can’t really use anything other than a modular lid anymore. I find the faff of removing and then trying to thread the glasses though not only hurts but also leads to me feeling a bit….well, silly. You don’t seem to have this issue, do you prefer full-faces over modulars?

John, I've owned 2 Nexx wst lids the latest being the carbon zero. I ride long rides all over Scotland and found that both lids leaked a fair amount via the centre vent which then dripped onto the sun visor then down onto the inside of the visor. Needless to say I've given up on the brand. Have you found this with the centre vent on the wed version. Has there customer care got any better as I found them very unhelpful when reporting my problems, in fact they eventually directed me back to the point of sales.

Wanted to buy the Nexx XR3R carbon, but the stealership in our country is so bad that I couldn't even get to test one..... went with a top of the line HJC brain bucket ..... There are situations when a pinlock can't manage that well, but most of the times it's seriously bad weather (cold, rain, snow, humidity)..... That happens on Shoei, Arai, HJC, Nexxs, Scorpion....the only helmet that didn't fog out in any condition it's the ICON Airflite, but that's more like a scarf after 80 km/h than a helmet :)). Talking about accesories and problems, I have a friend that had a serious problem with her quadlock......the slightest loosening of it made her bike wobble because of the way the air was passiong against the bike..... Imagine testing everything on the bike except the quadlock and not finding the problem, then you take it off and the bike runs like butter....

Hey, what would they call it when you wanna look "higher"? Like, the top brow of the window is blocking too much. Any big brand make something like that? So I can have less neck angle and more eyeball angle? These kinda do that, I think. Can't really tell. What's that called so as I can search for it?

i Like the helm, but does feal a bit top heavy one Problem i have is under hevy rain, the vents seam to leak water in. som of it manag to get on the visor on the inside....

The nexx wst3 carbon and the Arie Quantic are the same price, which would you pick?

I'm well overdue a new lid and these really caught my attention until the visor... So many ratchet visors don't have the provision to be cracked open just a little to keep them clear and give just a little extra airflow, a must for me with the crap weather we get these days. Fair play to Arai for this, no clicks and unlimited range of adjustment. The ratchet system is overkill, I have never had a visor fly open at speed if anything they tend to close which is still very rare. Is there a certification reason why so many helmets have locking catch visors now too? I can't stand fiddling around with them in gloves on the road! On track I guess fair enough but most people are off to the shops to buy milk most of the time not trying to set lap records. It doesn't even seem to be limited to sporty lids but even the budget sector. I know I'm ranting but those two factors are a dealbreaker for me on so many helmets, I would just go Arai but I really like an internal sun visor.

What would you recommend on a R1250GSA. De Wed3 or WST3? I don't do any major offroad. Mostly tarmac.

what is the headshape of the X.WED3? I cannot stand arai's round shape (all pushing my forehead) but shoeis are a perfect fit. No way for me to test one and I don't want to order if its closer to arai

Bought the new Nexx xwst3 with the graphics; luv it, but unfortunately i had to return it. It did not fit me well. I had the right size and all, but there was some pressure on both sides of my head. Seems like it’s for oval shaped heads. Im more on the round side. Wore it for 30 minutes in the store and left some red markings on both sides, above my temples. It did felt it expanded a bit but when i turned my head to both sides, it was a bit painful. Now I don’t know what else to buy 🤦‍♂️

The helmets look nice, but there are few things I don't understand. First of why bother with house made intercom? I don't think I have ever met a motorcyclist using one of those instead of sena/cardo or some cheap chinese one. Second why bother with tainted visors and integrated sunshade? I'm pretty sure it would be easier and cheaper to have none and offer visors seperately, especially if the change takes couple of seconds. Added bonus without the hole for shade offers better ventilation and possibly can mitigate the issue you had. I'm on the fence with the camera attachments as on one hand it is nice, but then again there is plenty of 3d printed ones that fit nicely on almost any helmet.

Nexx is a Portuguese brand with a factory in Portugal. I'm Portuguese and I'm the unfortunate owner of a Nexx X-Vilitur and the only thing I can say about the Nexx brand is...garbage! It's the prior helmet I've ever had in my life. In less than 1 year the solar visor fell to me because it broke in the middle of the trip! The helmet inside has disintegrated! The closure mecanismo of the model part of the helmet broke to... etc. in short, I have a bad opinion about Nexx and I advise anyone not to make the same mistake as me, that is, to buy one.

lol WAY too heavy. Arai is too heavy as well. Try Klim or Suomy if you want to save your neck.
