Neyla Pekarek, the cellist and classically trained vocalist formerly of The Lumineers, was in college when Rattlesnake Kate first rocked her world. She happened upon the true story of the frontierswoman, who singlehandedly killed 140 snakes as they encroached on her and her son, at Greeley, CO's History Museum. Still beguiled by the legend, Neyla turned to Kate as muse for her solo debut, Rattlesnake that came out in January of 2019. Neyla joined us in historic War Memorial Auditorium’s Attic Lounge to discuss everything from the inspiration behind each song to what she loves most about Rattlesnake Kate.

Well done. Bravo. You have a wonderful voice. We do historical bios and travel on our KZfaq channel. And we were inspired by you to do one on Rattlesnake kate, she was born in our hometown of Longmont. And we just recently visited her grave and her dress. At the Greeley Museum. We are very disappointed that your play and Musical got canceled here in Denver do to covid it. We're hoping to see it when things start up again

Don't know why so many people gave this video a thumbs down. I think she is incredibly talented. She is telling a story through song writing and I think it's great!
