That's my babygirl in the video. I let her listen to what you said. She was so happy she could make you feel all of those things.

This video is a perfect example of generational trauma. The little girl grew up to become just like her mom with the same problems and addictions she, as a child, saw her mom struggle with. It's sad and it happens all too often all over the world.

But the song is, in fact "Happy" - the young woman throws over the table where her booze and drugs are, she sees in the mirror that she is making the same mistakes her mother had, she then remembers that there were good times with joy and nurturing too, and that her mother was another flawed human being coping as well as she can, and goes to begin her healing by reconciling with her mother. Likewise, in the lyrics, NF is saying he can't continue to wallow in the bad and will do what it takes to become a better person from within, for himself and his loved ones. This is mentioned in the song Hope, where he says that he hugs his son every day and will never let his son wonder if he is enough just being who he is. And in Mama, he emotionally makes that reconciliation with his mother that he could not make face to face. It's all about making the hard choices needed for healing, and healing is a happy thing.

This song hurts and fill my heart every time. Very good reaction you two! His prayer at the first of the song sets the mood instantly. I love this song and love watching couples, especially with children react to this one.
