NFL Badge & Coin Casting From Scrap Copper - Melting Copper At Home (Easy Metal Casting)

In this video I'll be melting down some copper wire, pipes and other scrap. I'll be pouring the molten copper into custom made graphite molds of the NFL logo, Chicago Bears, Yoda and a Storm Trooper. I poured the remaining copper into a large ingot mold as well. The pieces were then clean up and polished to a mirror finish. so I will defiantly be picking up all star wars molds you have here soon. If you ever make a Kansas City Chiefs I would grab that to make coins for my dad, not into football myself but baseball I would love. Your stuff is amazing and I love seeing what you do next.

Yes it is. I like it however the screw that holds it on is a little long and sticks out a little

Hello ArtByAdrock, i have a question! Would melt some copper today, had a full tube of LPG. But after a while the pressure drops from 0.12 to 0.8 why does it do like that ??? I have the same equipment as you, a Devil-Forge!

It is dross, not slag. The solution rate of steel into molten copper is measured in seconds, you contaminate the copper with the spoon and rod you use.

Moles? Molds? Look up carving graphite, very simple.

Put it in a fire, melt out of the steel laminations. Any hardwood fire would work with forced air.

is ity possible to pour two different types of molten metal into one mold and have them stick together into one piece? like pour molten copper and molten aluminum both into a bar mold at the same time but make sure the swirl together a bit so there is SOME mixing, do you think it would hold together as one piece or two pieces with interlocking shapes??? I think that would be pretty cool to see 😉

Aluminum and copper alloy when molten. The temperature of liquid copper is much higher than aluminum. Best you could hope for is a precipitate of copper when the aluminum fuses back into a solid. That is why Al/Cu bronze is so brittle with large grain pattern in the fracture.
