My favorite part about most of these plays is that once the big men have the ball, every single one of their teammates are giving their absolute all to make sure they get as many yards as they can
@djp9289 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Was just gonna say the same thing. It always seems like everyone else just gets so excited when they realize a lineman has the ball. They know this is likely the only time he’s ever gonna do this and they all find another gear trying to get him to the house 😂 It rarely happens though, partly because the big guys just don’t have the speed or stamina, but also because the other team has the opposite reaction-they do NOT want to be on the bad end of one of these “big man with the ball” highlights so they work their asses off to shut it down.

For those of us who were in the Superdome for this [Fall 1994] game (just 3 rows from the top from the far end zone of this play unwinding), regardless of who was pulling/cheering for in respects to their team, we ALL were amazed watching Larry Allen drop down & kick-in the over drive sprint to run down that defender & (unfortunately) prevent the Pick 6! Oh my, Big Man Hauling! Javon Kearse was known as “The Freak”, as I would like to submit that Larry Allen be known as the “Runaway Freight”, as he easily is one of the top 2 fastest Offensive Line Guards to play the position, EVER!

I got to meet Refrigerator Perry in a Walmart in Reno NV in 1997. He was set up at a little table signing black and white pics of his TD at SBXX. My wife told me to go say hello while she shopped. I approached the table and shook his hand. He talked to me for almost 45 minutes. During that time, no one else stopped by. When my wife was done paying, she stopped by to see how much his signed pics were. He said $15, but because I was the only person to stop and say hello in the past hour, he signed one and just gave it to me. I tried paying, but he said he appreciated me just letting him talk about his NFL days. I still have that picture.
