My brother in law died last month driving his scat. He was speeding in a construction zone and hit a tractor. Everyone in the car died, and his head was cut completely off of his body.😢 The whole scene looked horrible and sad.

The bad guy (or girl) that’s drunk and stupid always survives. Infiniti driver gets to go home after she serves jail time. Then again it’s PG County so she’ll just get community service, a fine, supervised probation & credit for time served with the remaining sentence suspended. Now I wasn’t there nor am I a crash expert but I don’t think the hellcat could have got tore up like that if it wasn’t also speeding. Yeah they hit some trees but they hit them with some speed that car was in pieces

I don't street race as a rule, but when I have, I am the sole occupant and it's in a controlled environment. I can't imagine coming out of a nightclub and having an impromptu race in a crowded city. Secluded area only as Hemi Muscle states. Don't do it. Not worth the risk.

Out of all the mainstream cars mentioned the Infiniti G & Q cars are pretty much performance cars that have infamous Skyline roots and are budget friendly versions of Nissan GTRs. RWD (& rear biased AWD) and powerful for a V6 & many of them are modded. It’s not a FWD Camry, Sonata or Altima economy car, even though many drivers of those frequently love to go toe to toe with Hellcats all the time!

I had a Shaker R/T that was very stable on the road. It had the Bilstein shocks and factory lowered suspension. You're right. A Benz or Infinity, Lexus, Cadillac, etc. aren't made for high speeds unless it's the V model or AMG. I think the biggest issue with Hellcats is the insane 700 hp. That makes it easy to get away from you.

So you are saying that if you drive a hellcat or a charger you should be ok because those cars do not lose traction? Once you are going over 90 miles per hour, I don’t think it matters what you are driving . The chances of surving are slim to none . Unfortunately seatbelts would not have made much of a difference because the car fell apart.. it was an unfortunate accident where speed seems to be a factor. May they rest in peace and deepest condolences to their families.

I got a Redeye and I’m the first to admit that none of us actually need these cars! They’re just fun AsF but they’re actually pretty well built safe cars that do well on crash tests. I survived a 70 mph head on crash in my old cruiser when a dumb fuck going the wrong way not far from where this happened. My cruiser, a marked unit with a 5.7 took the hit pretty good considering the speed of the idiot. Unfortunately this Hellcat was obliterated after getting bumped off the road by the drunk & hitting trees at high speed. Seatbelt or not nobody would’ve survived that regardless of what make/model

The facts are the young men were all under the influence (just leaving Famus lounge) and was racing the infinity. The infinity ran up on traffic and tried to avoid a collision of a thrid car(chevy impala) that was doing the speed limit lost control and T-BONED the charger. They were both well over 100mph.

Imo! Any car driven at high speed with power steering is easy to lose control of, There's a reason Nascar's and Indy cars don't have power steering. The average driver also doesn't know how to recover from a spin out and tends to over steer and over brake! "Speed Kills" RIP!!

As a former ball player, my coaches always told me that nothing good happens after midnight and this is just another example sadly. Once you’re going 80+ it doesn’t take much but a blink of an eye. Idk if he was racing or not, but ppl please if yall can’t make it home by 12 then stay where you at, too many ppl drink and do drugs and think they good to drive, again not saying this was the case, but Henry Ruggs should’ve been the last person we see middle of the night in a fast car and someone lose they life. if you are doing a pull, once you start approaching cars that arent even in your lane you need to slow down all it takes is 1 to change lanes without checking blind spots and its over, not everyone on the road you driving with is locked in like you are when doing 120+ mph they on their phone, fixing their hair, eating snacks or w/e

Excellent point. I see this shit daily, especially here in the DMV area. Ppl just cut lanes by turning their blinker on (if you’re lucky to even see the blinker) simultaneously as they change lanes BEFORE even verifying that the next lane is clear then over correct & overreact when they realize it’s not clear cuz they’re so distracted. So many times I’ll be cruising along & I can just predict being cut off by some mindless moron that thinks they’re the only car on the road & fk everybody else. Even in a marked cop car I’ve been cut off & they’ll be mid stroke into merging and I have to hit the brakes then they’ll realize what they done, overreact and nearly hit a car in the next lane🤦🏾‍♂️. One even lost control of her Lexus GX, crossed over the raised median & smoked a van head on in the opposite side of the highway then she had a nerve to try to shift the blame for me startling her even though I was chilling doing the actual speed limit and in my own lane 🤦🏾‍♂️

any type of vehicle you drive you have to know what it can and cannot do. how well it handles and brakes as well as accelerate. but most of all be aware of the vehicles around you. if youre going to drive aggressively avoid tailgating and use your signals. give vehicles a chance to get out of your way instead of passing them on the right. minimize risk. yes,i need to take my own advice lol.

Hellcats literally been hitting 200 mph for nearly 10 years now! Also most tracks are only 1/4 mile tracks and you’ll never get a street car to 145 unless you’re pushing over 1,500 hp and that’s only for a couple seconds.

The Infiniti Q50 has the same engine as the Nissan 370Z. Granted i wasnt there but many people test these Hellcats and in many cases they race. Also these Hellcats and other cars have black boxes (like in airplanes)in them that tell how fast it was going 5 seconds before airbags deploy. This is so tragic. My sincere condolences to the families.

Capitol Raceway and Buds Creek is the spots to race in southern Maryland . We do have Cecil County Dragway up North. But they will always street race like dirt bike riders in the street. We raced in D.C. when I was coming up and Northern Parkway or 70 in Baltimore.

First God Bless the families during this time of grief. I have a Mustang GT350 with 600+ to the rear wheel with minimal mods. Today's cars are coming out of the factory with at least 350 to 400 horsepower. This is not the 80s nor the 90s where you were lucky to have 200 house power in your car. Today’s family cars are much more powerful than yesterday’s race cars and ANY speed contest should be done at the track not on the street. Bad things happen too fast and sometimes it is impossible to tell someone you are sorry.

Drive the speed limit these cars are fast but are not meant to be driven fast on public roads . Some of us have kids in the car and are just trying to get home . I drive a sports car, and everybody wanna race everywhere i go. everybody wanna race i dont entertain that mess . Im a paramedic and need my drivers license and see to many bad accidents daily to even think about racing . There is just a lot of bad or dumb ass drivers on the road these days. I make my living driving, drivers today are the worst I have ever seen. Not following speed zones, changing lanes without looking, tailgating and just a complete lack of respect.

I don't comment much on KZfaq, but I don't like this post and commentary. "What really happened" is not known - the information presented is just news clips and conjecture. People commenting about their age, their car, racing, etc. Any car that gets run off the road into an area littered with freshly cut tree stumps and other construction-related debris is going to be pretty messed up. We don't know if they were going 55 or 155 - They were RUN OFF THE ROAD. Sheesh!

Life can be snatched in an instant. All loss is sad but it’s 10X worse when it happens to good people. These young brothers were just like us. Enjoying life, accomplishing goals and weren’t street thugs out here robbing, killing, selling drugs, stealing shit etc.. They had so much going for them. Unlike the fucktards from last week that were killed in the white BMW 3 series that led Anne Arundel County & US Park Police on a 30+ mile pursuit when they ended up in SE DC (15 min away from this ^ tragedy) & smoked a tree at 100mph and exploded on impact killing 2 of the 3. They did about a dozen armed robberies & tried to ditch the gun out the window before Karma bit them in the ass. It’s chaotic & crazy out here!

It was definitely a Cat, just a narrow body (15-19). Still could see the right rear wheel, rear seat (black Laguna leather) and the right front HC fender badge. Sunroof was open too

They were on Rt 4 (Pennsylvania Ave which leads to DC from St Mary’s, Calvert & Prince George’s Counties) but the car and parts ended up on the adjacent service road which was a dead end
