Back in the day John Facenda would do football highlights with the nfl films music playing in the background. As a kid, I use to watch the highlights, then go outside and play football on the street block with a bunch of friends. That's how I became a football fan. I wish we had the old nfl films music back again with narrators like him. He seemed to use words that would literally put you on the field and make you feel as though you were right there at the game. There aren't any announcers like that anymore.

I never played on the professional or college levels, but I played for several teams and loved every minute of it. Kevin J. Stoll In my opinion the best football was played from the 60's to maybe the mid 80's. The players weren't super rich and were more humble. In fact my 9th grade shop teacher was a former offensive guard for the Detroit Lions. He was an all pro at one time. He never got rich and turned to teaching after he retired.
