Not really, it’s just that it’s been over a decade and he’ll luck into half of them by that time. The bills and bengals, for example, he said they’ll make the playoffs/Super Bowl, but they did it 10 years after his prediction. Both teams rosters and staff are completely different. The bulls don’t have a single player from when he made that prediction on the team. Same with the bengals, apart from their punter.

@@simon_carrick8198 There’s no way you’re blaming those losses on the refs. Rodgers was absolutely terrible in 2014, and on 8 combined turnovers his defense gave him between those two games he scored 1 TD
@simon_carrick8198
@simon_carrick8198 Жыл бұрын
@@nrmproductions1150 I mean the refs in 2020 specifically. I didn’t say what I was thinking for 2014 because it takes a lot longer to write out, but for you I suppose I can. Firstly, we should get this out of way: Rodgers did not perform well for the first 3 quarters. In fact, I would say the 2014 NFC Championship is from an on-paper statistics perspective, Aaron Rodgers’ 2nd worst playoff performance in a playoff loss, second only to the 2021 divisional. However, Rodgers does not deserve the most blame, in fact, between him, the coaching, the defense, and the special teams, he deserves the least blame. Let’s paint the scene: there’s five minutes left in the game. The Pack lead 19-7 over seattle. The defense has done tremendously as far as Packer’s defenses go, and Rodgers himself has largely been average, no where near his elite level, however, he’s still up by 11 points with 5 minutes left. Russell Wilson’s offense finally wakes up and scores on the Packers defense, it is now 19-14, but this is largely a non-factor. It’s garbage time right? It was a worthless timeout because once the Packers receive the ball, they are in perfect position to drain the remaining clock and punch a ticket to the super bowl. By all means, literally all the Packers have to do is recover this kick and the Packers go to the super bowl. Mistake 1: Brandon Bostick. The biggest culprit for this loss was the first in a series of unfortunate events. Bostick apparently wanted to be the hero and catch the game-sealing ball, but as we all now know, muffed the game winning recovery, and Seattle got the ball back. Mistake 2: Defensive collapse. The previously stout Packers defense began to collapse on itself, allowing another Seattle touchdown, giving Seattle the lead, 20-19. The Packers defense made another crucial mistake by allowing a 2 point conversion, which lengthened the Seattle lead to 22-19. At this point, the Packers defense had allowed 15 points in under 5 minutes. Aaron Rodgers, coming onto the field for the first time since being up 19-7, is now down by 3. With under 1 minute left in the game, Rodgers heroically leads his offense 50 yards down field to set up a game-tying field goal to send the game to OT. Please note, had the defense stopped the 2 point conversion, this would have been a game-winning drive. Mistake 3: Being unlucky. The Packers lost the coin toss, and the Pack defense allowed a walk off TD to send Seattle to the super bowl. This game is the 2nd in a set of 3 years in a row where Aaron Rodgers led a game-tying drive only to never see the ball again, and the 1st in 2 in a row where he will do so, and then lose the OT coin toss as his defense allows a walk off TD. Now that I’ve addressed what happened in the game, here’s my opinion: Least at fault: Aaron Rodgers. Something I can’t defend was his play for 3 quarters. It was really only 1 of 2 games in his playoff losses where he didn’t perform at-least good. But that doesn’t change the fact that he was extremely clutch in the crunchtime, a crunchtime that really should’ve never happened. Who’s sort of at fault: the Defense and Coaching. What’s true is the defense played a stout game for 3 quarters, but they were pretty much the opposite of Aaron Rodgers, as though they played great for 3, they completely fell apart when it mattered the most. Allowing 15 points in 5 minutes, a game losing walk off touchdown, and a 2 point conversion to extend the opponent’s lead to 3, all very costly. But I think even more to blame than the defense’s clutchtime failure was the coaching staff’s lack of spine. There were 2 separate instances (not one, it happened Twice!) where Rodgers had the ball on the Seattle 1 yard line on 4th and 1, and instead of taking a gamble with your MVP QB on a TD, or maybe just a 1 yard run, they elected to settle for a field goal both times. Had either of these 2 instances been a TD, the defensive collapse wouldn’t had mattered. But in my opinion, the most blame for this loss lies upon the special teams, more specifically Brandon Bostick. Has Bostick blocked and allowed Jordy Nelson (you know, the Packers WR1) to catch the onside (seriously, go watch the play), none of this would’ve mattered. Aaron Rodgers underperforming, the questionable coaching decisions, the defensive clutchtime failures, none of it would’ve mattered as Green Bay was in prime position to drain the clock. I don’t think 1 single player has ever had such an effect on the outcome of a game than Brandon Bostick did in the 2014 NFC Championship. Does this seem reasonable?

Is it that crazy to think quarterbacks taken in the first round would eventually make JUST ONE pro bowl? Pro bowl rosters are changed every year it feels like with random guys popping off and then never getting there again. To think top picks like Locker or Ponder would make one is just…normal. What isn’t normal is thinking very early on that Blaine Gabbert was complete garbo, and he was right about that, which is creditation to him.
