Stephen A is right Romo had weapons offensively for the most part.. however those 8/8 seasons Romo had us in positions to win those last games defense always let him down
@tomknapp6194Ай бұрын
Romo had weapons because he made them. How many receivers and RBs had career years with Romo and then didn't do as well with Dak or on another team?
@chriswhite3198Ай бұрын
@tomknapp6194 I'd have to agree although TO was great Romo actually made him better in his 3 seasons with Cowboys, Romo also made wr's Larent Robinson,Miles Austin millionaires,Romo legitimate had 2 SB teams his whole career 07,&14! and neither of those playoff losses were his fault!

firecrackerjack68 What moderately good QB isn’t better than Jay Cutler? Skip talks all the time about winning intangibles being the only thing that matters, which is literally the one thing that Romo definitively did NOT have. Yet Skip still rambled on for years about how great Romo was. To Skip Bayless, being a winner is only required if Skip Bayless doesn’t like you. 🤷♂️

Lets guess the stat line: QB A: 14TD 17 INT. QB B: 23 TD 7 INT. QB C: 17 TD 7 INT. QB D: 18 TD 12 INT. QB E: 24 TD 12 INT. Answers: QB A: Eli manning, QB B: Tony Romo, QB C: Tom Brady, QB D: Matt Ryan, QB E: Mathew Stafford. Bottom-line: Romo is the only reason the cowboys have been worth anything the last 5 seasons. He always overcomes the teams deficiencies to at least make them competitive. He overcomes bad coaching, bad offensive lines, horrific defense, and some of the dumbest and most drop prone wr in the NFL. He is a very good QB on a bad team.

Right dude, I’m an Eagles fan, but Tony Romo is one of my favourite QBs, and in my opinion, Tony Romo was on the same tier as Rivers,Brady, Bree's, and Rodgers as a top QB in the 2010s. NFL fans discredit him just because of their hatred towards the cowboys and base their opinions of Tony’s play on his lowlights. I just wish fans could stop disrespecting and discrediting players just because they dislike them. Tony revived the Cowboys and made the team a top 10/5 team almost every season to the present day in the Daks era, who’s going through the exact same thing as Tony did during his time in the league.

he also led us to a 13-3 season but if you watched the playoff game, we did not loose cuz that last interception we lost because there were ALOT of key drops and pressure, he is out there kicking ass and his team does not help him in really any way but look at our season at the moment one more win and we goto the playoffs, against the saints he threw for 413 yards and 4 touchdowns no interceptions, you give this guy the littlest help he can make great things happen

Against the Giants when he threw 4 TD no Ints and a 141.6 QB rating and his defense allowed the giants to take the lead despite a 12 point lead with only 35 seconds left what did he do? He drove down the field in those 35 seconds to set u a game tying field goal which was blocked, again when he wasn't on the field. What you have are myths with nothing to back them up.

Tony Romo is a great QB from his footwork to his accurate arm but there are two things that shut him down every time 1) is the o-line they don't block to save there life's and 2) is that rather that take the sack or throw it away he takes a risk and it gets picked

Here's some stats for you Tono Romo Career stats: 64.7% completion rating, 25,737 passing yards, 177 TD, 91 Int, 2nd highest quarterback rating in the 4th quarter of all time! This has all been done without a steady running game or good lineman for most of his career. In this video Stephan A Smith says that Romo has all the talent to succeed, but the fact his that if you have good yet inconsistanct wide recievers wont mattter if your qb is having to make 50% of throws running for his life.
@worldwidebranch8912 жыл бұрын
Football is a team sport,But it's all about stars and what they do in important moments, I blame the media for overated him he's all stats with no rings,but yet Eli manage to win 2 rings smh
@tomknapp6194 Жыл бұрын
I want to make a comparison between 2 QBs, but I'm not going to identify them or where the games come from until after the stats are put up: QB A: 7 Games 29 points/game 182 Completions 283 Attempts 64% completion 7.69 yards/attempt 19 TDs 6.7 TDs/100 attempts 4 interceptions 104.22 passer rating QB B: 8 Games (+1) 22.25 points/game (-6.75) 178 completions (-4) 282 attempts (-1) 63.12% completion (-.88) 7.35 yards/attempt (-.64) 15 TDs (-4) 5.3 TDs/100 attempts (-1.4) 2 interceptions (-2) 100.9 passer rating (-3.3) QB A had 1 less game, but more yards and more TDs than QB B. But, it would be fair to say that even though A is better, B is not far behind. QB A is Tony Romo is his 7 losses from 2013 and QB B is Eli Manning in the 2007 and 2011 combined playoffs. So, what was the real difference between going 0-7 and 8-0? Let's look at some other very relevant stats: QB A (Romo): 0-7 Average points given up by defense: 37 Opponents held to 20 or fewer points: 1 Opponents scoring 30+: 6 (OUT OF 7?!?!?!?) Opposing QB passer rating: 117 Games LOST by 4 or less points: 5 QB B (Eli): 8-0 Average points given up by defense: 16 (-21 vs what Romo's defense gave up) Opponents held to 20 or fewer points: 8 (+7) Opponents scoring 30+: ZERO (-6) Opposing QB passer rating: 74 Games WON by 4 or less points: 5 There is the difference. The Cowboys defense gave up an average of 37 points and an opposing QB passer rating of 117 in those losses and Romo still almost won 5 of them. Eli's defense gave up an average of 16 points per game and an opposing passer rating of 74 and barely won 5 of them. It isn't always as clear cut as the final score or just a stat here and there. Oh, yeah, that was Romo being slightly above average and Eli probably having the highest passer rating in an 8 game stretch of his career. Romo was the Cowboys. Eli was carried by the defense. Romo was blamed for not doing enough and Eli was hailed as a playoff genius.

Romo throws less interceptions per drive than any quarterback in the playoff history. This year Romo has thrown less fourth quarter interceptions than any active QB other than Peyton and has throw WAY less than Eli. He threw less than Eli this year.
@tommoore201211 жыл бұрын
what about against the Jets where they failed to protect McBriar for the punt and the Jets returned it for a TD? Romo continually makes miraculous plays every year. This year it is his penalty loving o-line that keeps screwing things up. He's the only qb I've ever heard of that can make something out of nothing. He is an elite, and when he wins that SB, he will prove himself once and for all

@cocodrillo101211 жыл бұрын
You just named 3 players out of a team consisting of 53 players and 22 starters. The Cowboys have talent, they have some great players but that doesn't erase the fact that this team has had major holes for years! Cowboys haven't had a good O Line since 07, their defense has ranged from terrible to mediocre since the late 90's, not to mention the coaching is not nearly up to par either.

He actually thinks Tony Romo is a lot better than Tim Tebow, on the top 100 he said its a shame Romo is that low on the list. And you could make an argument on Flacco. I see them as complete opposites, Romo is good the first 3 quarters but can't get it done when he needs it done. Flacco seems to be only good in the clutch. But I would probably take Romo any day before Flacco.

Romo puts up the same numbers as the best of them: Rodgers...Brees...Eli.....Brady....What keeps Romo out of that class, and its a big separation...is performance in BIG GAMES...MONEY GAMES......He must eliminate "tragic" mistakes in those games...But he's an exciting QB and he could play.

I like Stephen A. but, even with the 2 games that he lost against the Jets and Lions, Tony still had 4 come from behind victories in the clutch last season. Stephen A. failed to point that out and, Stephen A. also failed to point out how many games the Cowboys lost because of the defense blowing leads. Again, I like Stephen A. but, I think he's wrong on this. You can only put so much blame on the QB. Eventually, you have to look at the rest of the team. The Cowboys were not good enough as a team

Im not saying Romo is Underrated but he isnt a scrub he has his bad games but more losses can be blame on the rest of the team then him.
