Steeler fan here. Native Pittsburgher, child of the '70's.. I love the Raiders! Without the Raiders, there '70's Steelers and beyond NEVER happen! Those '70's games against the Raiders were the BEST, as good as any Super Bowl. Phil Phillipiano is my favorite NFL personality outside of a few Steelers, obviously. On and off the field Phil is a legend and a prince of the game!!

Thanks for this video. Phil Villapiano has been a hero of mine since I was a kid. I love watching the old Raider highlights of him working his magic with the can opener. September 27, 1975- Phil stood for my dad & his sons to witness a team practice in Mayland, before a Colts game. Even 'Al Davis' would not kick out guests from a closed practice which the GREAT 'Phil Villapiano' invited. A day remembered. Thank You, Phil- my hero.

I was fortunate enough to see the Raiders of the 60's-70's living in Oakland. And watching this man...............the game has really changed. That entire Raiders' teams that Madden coached couldn't even play today because everyone would be under suspension, lmao!!!!!!! It's great that all this is preserved. The NFL will never be the same as those days!!! The Raiders, Steelers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Cowboys and even the Vikings, man that was fierce football back then. And players never complained because they loved it so much. This dude tackled the defensive coach during a drill, CLASSIC and coach just shook that shyt off. You gotta love it!!!

Conrad Dobler tells a story about the time he and Phil were teammates in Buffalo. They had been drinking. Then driving to another bar, a cop pulls them over. Dobler is driving and the cop says Dobler has to do the field sobriety tests. Phil says "Screw you cop! He can't take no test, he's too drunk!!" Chuck Knox must have done something to a coach as a player, because he coached crazy men like Isiah Robertson, Dobler, Villapiano, and The Bozo, I mean, Boz.

Great story. Add Dryer to that list of crazies. Another ex--NFL player who does a colorful interview. Plus he was quoted after Youngblood broke his leg and came back on the field to play with it taped up "The only guy who can stop him is Bruce Lee, and he's dead." With all respect to the legend, that was a funny quote back then.
