This is the story of how I lost my soulmate Shawn. When I was 16 years old in highschool. I met Shawn. He was everything that I wanted. Now I wasn’t looking for love he just came along. We spent so much time together from October 2017 to November 2017. Yes I know that is a short period of time but everyday I spent with him I knew he was special. We were so different but also the same in many ways. Sadly I had to move in November so on my last day of school I wrote him a letter and gave it to him. When I left I really started to miss him now I knew eventually I was going to return to school I just didn’t know when. I went out of town and I saw this keychain and it reminded me of him so I bought it for him. I had made a promise to god that if I had the chance to see him again I would do what ever it takes. When I had returned to school I found out he was gone I was heart broken . I said I would wait for him 4 years later I found him on Facebook August 2021 and we both started talking like no time has passed and 5 months later we met in person and I gave him the keychain and apparently he kept my letter until it dissipated . We continued dating and we even got promise rings we were happy. Then the worst news came he had Schizophrenia. I made the choice to stay because I loved him no matter what and I always knew about his condition . Things go so bad with him I got that last phone call on August 13, 2022 of him saying we can’t be together because it is not safe and yes he did the right thing but it still hurts. We both cried and said our goodbye’s. I’m grieving and so is he I want to help and support him but it is too dangerous. It is so hard when you lose that person you can't sleep,eat,work it's like your whole life just stops and you can't do anything about it even the good memories start to hurt and it almost feels like they are dead even though they are not because that is the last time you ever hear from them see them know about them and then they are just gone. You hold on to so much hope that even for a second you wish you could have a 5 minute conversation one last time just to feel happy to get closure. One day I will see him again even if it is in the afterlife. I will wait he is the love of my life and I hope we cross paths someday my love. When this song first came out, I had gotten pregnant from a guy I only knew for 2 months. He was from Brooklyn and moved to PA because he kept getting in trouble, fighting, selling and doing drugs. Was in one of the worst prisons in the country. We spilt the whole pregnancy because he still couldn’t fully give up that lifestyle. When I heard this song for the first time I had to pull over to the side of the road, overcome by emotion. And I remember just crying. 3 years later we are happily married with 2 beautiful sons. He spoke to me through this song on the radio that day. Thank you for this song NF.
