Pro Street is still unbeaten when it comes to atmosphere. Having gone to hundreds of car meets and race days, the atmosphere in Pro Street just nails it. Forza Horizon 1 came close as well though that was more a festival than a car meet or race day.

I actually liked camera shake in pro street, it was one of the few games that it actually felt dangerous to drive at fast speeds.

Thanks to that camera shake PS is the only NFS title that I have played through the entire game with bonnet camera (and one of my all time favorite NFS)

The major camera shake made the sprint runs feel properly dangerous, even if it gets absurd at times it really adds to the thrill of the race

The visual design in the menu and tracks were like no other. It was one of the first games where tracks really had interesting scenery, especially for the real world ones.

I’m still baffled at how ProStreet might still have some of the best tire smoke I’ve seen in a game , aside from Mafia 2. That game had smoke that trailed on your car and character If you went through it. So still dk how they managed that

I think Mafia 2’s smoke(and fog in one of the Batman Arkham games) was powered by Nvidia PhysX which never really got adopted that well

in the PS2 version of this game, there's a bug that when any car pulls over at 403km/h, it just doesn't turn anywhere, it literally turns into a train

2:06 There seemed to be a game breaking glitch on the PS2 version that would freeze the game forever at a certain spot. IIRC it was a random race while moving towards the 1v1 against Monroe. Absolutely drove me mad as a kid. The PS3 version seemed absolutely fine in my experience.

The camera shake might have been overdone but I think it still looks better with it than without any camera shake at all, because now it looks boring and safe. I don't know if that's an option but maybe just turning the shake down a little bit would've been enough.

I clearly set the assist mode in vlted to lvl 0 for drifting just to feel the snappy between transition and make the car not continue to drift on track by holding the ebrake

Realistic crashes ARE actually a cool feature for a racing game, I remember when TOCA had the car destruction and camera slowdown with multiple angles, with a friend we used to run the same circuit that had like a ramp cliff for the sole purpose of creating dramatic crashes :P If a random car racind dev is here, here this video out there's a lot of cool tips to keep in mind.

I've always figured that ProStreet and Undercover share similar handling and graphics. Perhaps this means that an Undercover remaster is possible? Tri-City is a big map and I for sure would want it to be remastered.

I love to see an nfs with the dificulty like nfs mw / handling like shift 2, so when you drift activate that drift Mode, making it arcade but not so much/ pro street vives with ilegal/legal challenges, open world, canyons, frostbite 3

Played this Game to 100%, also with 1.1 Patch/DLC. Had to use some other mods as well, that are fixing the cars and Quality in the same level from 2007 release. Pro Tip: The McLaren F1 is OP af. Not the Gulf. (Sorry Kuru)

ProStreet and TDU1 are locked in eternal battle for the title of my favourite racing games of all time and no one has an upper hand. Their combined spiritual successors, FH1 and The Crew 1 are great but they're nowhere near as amazing as they could have been.

I don't know how no one think about this : NFS prostreet was an experimental game where they tried to bring the NFS name to the professional racing level. They wanted to enter the sim racing games market like grand Turismo but they don't want to go all in to it, they just want to try to enter the market. That's why the prostreet still have the street racing atmosphere in it.

Oh the wobble at speed challenge because the car had to much down force when it cross lean/bank road right? I've experienced it, and it's the worst ever. Even raising the car doesn't make it any better

For me this is the best old nfs, cars were brutal, atmosphere was awesome. It was realistic. Lol the game was punishing you for driving too fast, you total your car and you're out just like that, no shits given.

Pro Street and Shift are the best parts of the series beside Underground 2 and the original Most Wanted, imo. I own most of NFS games, but skipped Undercover and "new" Most Wanted. And i completed all of them but Shift 2, because it's a mess in top tier cars to drive

I wanted to play ProStreet again, I bought and played it back in the day but my hardcopy isnt worth much these days. I needed a pirated version that comes with essentials to run it on Win11. Same is true for Underground1 only UG2 is a champ and still runs good under Win11. The InputLagRemover transforms ProStreet :) Sadly after ProStreet I didnt buy NfS games anymore: After UG, UG2 MostWanted and Prostreet the next entry carbon didnt interest me as much.

I need to figure out how to set this up tomorrow, I've been playing prostreet and it's done nothing but have bugs and crash all the time, meanwhile pepega mod runs better than the vanilla game. If these mods can fix my issues I'd be grateful, one bug I've ran into is exhaust size controlling the rear bumper proportions on cars like to s197 mustang gt and gt500.

Wish there was this amount of car model damage in newer games. I know manufacturers don’t want their cars to look unsafe but come on just have the devs paste a statement at the title screen telling players to drive safely and that it’s just a video game.

There was a prostration provocation, it was pleasing to have good cars to race in a race on the prostre. After the prostreet, the others were not satisfied. The grid and shift were terrible. prostreet was the best racing game
