After 4+ years, 5 ENTs, months of , 2 sinus surgeries, physiatrist + therapy, audiologist tests, vestibular therapy, a neurologist and multiple medications, we came to the conclusion of vestibular migraine by process of elimination to say the least. With a certain medication my symptoms have improved by 70% but have not given up on potential better solutions. Please reach out if you’d like to connect

Hi I believe this is what I have . After first I thought it was a Eustachian tube . But the more I have these attacks I noticed it’s not that and I went to the doctor and I was told my ears had cleared up . I also have this swarm of heat that’s always in my face as well . I’ve been dealing with this for months and I’m just ready to get better !

@@iambreannaa so sorry I am just seeing this! I am currently on a low dosage of clonazapam daily, which acts as a vestibular suppressant. It has improved my symptoms by about 70 percent. Mainly my balance, which has allowed me to exercise again and get back to a little more of a normal active life. I’ve lost 35 lbs of the 40+ I put on due to not being able to exercise because of my equilibrium being so bad...I’m currently continuing to try other medications. Most recently, I tried topiramate, which put me in a fog and made me sooo sleepy. I am about to try a couple more: Ubrelvy and NURTEC, which are both calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor antagonists (CGRPs). They are supposed to work by targeting and blocking CGRP, which is found in many people with migraines, but we’ll have to see how they do, since I don’t have typical migraines with a headache or anything.

@@iambreannaa I have tried COUNTLESS other meds as well. other SSRIs and other anxiety meds - Zoloft, celexa, viibryd, Wellbutrin, buspar, hydroxyzine, amitriptyline, as well as beta blockers like propranolol. I also tried Aimovig for 8 months, which is another CGRP in an injection form, which did nothing to help my vestibular symptoms. Unfortunately, the ONLY thing that HAS actually helped my VESTIBULAR SYMPTOMS are benzodiazepines, which are heavily stigmatized.
