In NHL 23 I had no issues beating the CPU on Super Star. This year the CPU is making me their B*tch. I appreciate these tips and will apply them to my game play.

Thanks. But I have to say, those replays you showed can’t be superstar. If so, I’m getting screwed because the superstar I play, they poke, and run me over before I can even blink and I have all 86-87’s. I tried your lil corner trick, haha. Two ram and pin me on the board. There isn’t any waiting for them to pursue. Same with off the face off. D to D then magically hits a defenders skate when passing to the center or their 2 d men are smashing my center as soon as he gets the puck. Is there certain strategies for offense zone or neutral zone? I think that’s pretty important based on where your AI goes. Anyhow. I’ll keep trying it but ya. So far I can beat superstar but it’s a toe curl grind. I’ll score 4-5 then magically my hits, poke checks, and handling the puck just vanishes and the AI turns god mode and scores the most ridiculous muffin goals to come back and win or almost beat me. Lol

Can 100% assure everything is on Superstar. There will be points where they seem like Team Canada, but just got to grind away at it. Practice makes perfect! Sometimes they wait to attack and sometimes they don't, just need to read the situation. For the D to D to C goal you might get it once or twice a game. The center gets gets stuck a lot, and there are def times when it looks like a clear break and the AI D crushes you. I'd say just keep trying and learn the timing. It will get much easier. Trust me, it didn't use to look as easy as I made it! Took time.

@@Nealerr I believe ya homie :) I think I was more frustrated because I just lost after leading 4-1. Was excited to try these and again, I’m sure it will take time to get the timing down because anytime I tried it it failed. There were some signs of hope trying the corner play but there was always a D man or someone in the crease that would come ear hole me or poke me the second I went to my backhand (last move before you shoot) That and I have a bad habit of always shooting low (assume since you steer with left stick and aim to shoot) I never get the aim done prior to shooting and I shoot the direction I’m steering my guy

The game loves certain people and hates others, some people have superstar AI that does jack shit and others deal with AI that curbs stomps you if you get with 2 inches of them

Amen my friend, same shit happens to me. If I have 99 and the AI has 99, the AI's is at least 3 strides faster. The curl out of the corner, one tiny tap and the player stumbles. And even if I beat the guys out of the corner, everyone converges on the net and I either get laid out, or the puck is stolen before I can input a second of a shot into the controller and the rush is a 4 on 2 in my zone with tic-tac passing by the AI and always an easy goal.

My problem is I appear to love winning by 4. It doesn't feel like it, but there's enough proof of it so it must be true. Elite 1 every week ain't bad tho.

do u get more points if you have a lower overall team. example: my team is 84 overall and someone else’s team is 86 and we both play and 85 overall does team with lower overall get more points??

Not confirmed but I do believe lower ovr teams get a few more points. Wish EA would tell us for sure

At 10:44, where you start to cut in front, the goalie seems to block it, and at that point, the AI has quickly collapsed and the tid bit of open space is gone.

That's why I'm saying you may need to circle a bit until the front clears. Sometimes the center stays there but then will leave after you bait a defender into the corner.

I really need help I can only play on rookie I have tried superstar nope I can't even get out of my end or even control of the puck I grind every day and week just to get to pro 1 or elite on rookie

My advice is watch the "how to score" portion of this video, hop on Superstar and start practicing. Even losing on Superstar will get you more points than winning on Rookie.

Been in top 100 two times this now back to back which only resulted in two 85s and three 84s overall cards.. won't waste time on it. Elite 1-2 max gives be pretty much the same

They give nowhere near the same. Major difference in coin reward and silver collectibles. It's not really about the overall of cards you get(btw the 85's and 84's you got will make 2 and a half power up collectibles by themselves and give you two packs), but more about the quantity for sets. It's about what you do with the rewards that matters most.

So basically once you master these moves and move up in the ranks, the rewards are still shit decks, with the only thing good being the coins. So basically like every reward in NHL 24, packs that never yield shit.

@@Rcap238 i got great rewards from it personally. It's not so much the ovr of players you get, but the amount for sets to get better players or upgrade the ones you have.

@@Nealerr definitely, agree with that, but now the problem is back to even breaking into Elite 1. One of the major problems and it's not anyone fault is that when I look at the top 100 and check out their games played. They are in the 40's on day two. I do not have the luxury or time to even come close to that. But hell, I would simply be happy to beat superstar mode lol.

@Rcap238 everyone gets the same amount of games played. The people in the 40's are replaying games cause they messed up on certain ones. It's a long grind that I spread out through 4 days.

Superstar will get you the most points by far

yes you need the higher points to become a higher level atleast get to the highest elite if you aren't good enough for superstar

The pack opening was totally pointless, just took time. I wish it was more play footage, and you went to your team strategy and sliders etcetera. And I think defense is very important to, you have to do less goal, so show how you defend also. Good job for first video. Do a part 2 with all the stuff I mentioned.

This can't be on superstar mode. I have a god squad and if I know that play up the middle to 99, but when I try that on superstar, 99 is on his ass, one tiny tap and players go down. The corner goal, same thing, I bait them, curl out and a tiny tap messes up my player and I'm on my ass. I have also never seen the front of the net that cleared out before. The AI immediately collapses in and as soon as try to shoot, by stick get's hit or I get hit. All legit suggestions, but what you are showing is not even as close to as fast as to what I get on superstar. (I'm just an avg. player, so maybe I just suck lol)

I can 100% guarantee it's on Superstar. Just takes some practice and you'll start to get it. Also keep in mind neither play is 100%, even I'll have rough stretches during a game where it feels like I can't get it. Practice, push through the rough patches and you'll be dominating in no time. As I write this comment I'm up 6-0 with 5 minutes left in the 1st on Superstar. Just takes time to fully understand the little things.

@@Nealerr It's frustrating as F***. Especially with the team I have. I simply don't understand how the AI is always a step faster all things being equal. The moves you did show use to be money for me. At this point it works one night, the next night it's all shut down and I can't even get a pass off.

@@Nealerr I tried this last night again, team had a silver goalie! Everything was shut down and I have a god squad. Superstar incorporates the dumb arcade hitting into it where even if you don't have the puck, the AI is pulling your legs out and going goon style. I came close to crushing the controller in my own hands I was so frustrated. Off topic, I was doing rush to get my points up for packs that provide no value lol. The same player on both teams, Fanelli (spelling?). Dude was so fast for AI, My version, slow as shit. How do I loose strides if I am chasing 2 strides behind while holding down L1? How are the same players so different in Superstar mode?
