With how the cross play is setup & the overall hype for 24 already.. I can say you will 100% be playing this game by yourself.. Online for 23 will be non-existent.

Bro, I've been playing NHL since NHL94 and I can tell you I played my whole life using the plus button (up, down, left, right) and the x, o, triangle, square. That's how the game was played. And then all of a sudden in the 2000's new gen was born that adding the ability to deke and skate using the right analog and left analog. I literally thought it was the end of the world that I had to retrain myself and my muscle memory of over 10 years, but you know what? After I finally got adjusted to the skill stick controls, I realized it was so much better. Go ahead and sit out NHL24 and then NHL25, NHL26, and so on. Or you can just bite the bullet and make the switch. Either way just know that from my 30 years experience of playing this game the game moves forward, not backwards. You could also buy one of those controllers that allows you to map the buttons the way you want. That might help.

Yeah this makes me the most sad I loved using skating to get around guys, they should make it an X factor so guys like barzal can use L-2 / L-2 + X movement

@@devinprizmic Barzal does nothing similar to what the LT user's do inside the game. It's why EA is eliminating that kind of cheesey style of play, nothing about it resembled hockey.. Learn to use you speed button as a power up

LT was broken and unrealistic. Removing it was long overdue.

Presentation wise there were new replay cameras, I think new celebrations, new player icons with energy bar underneath the player (👍), digital boards, 1 new commentator. Probably something else as well that's the stuff I noticed.

Goalies were down on the ice a lot more like I said, and they moved behind the net quicker. AI felt similar. Only thing I noticed a difference in was them covering the slot a bit better on defence. Other than that I can't say they've improved.

HUT and WOC (servers) have had the issue with delay. Couldn't really test those modes other than 1 WOC game. Impossible to tell before the game is out. My personal thought is that the delay happens when more players connect to the servers.

Probably they just haven't liked how players used it and how op it was. Like it did look terrible when players spmmed it and moved like a ballerina across the ice 😂 I do think they went overboard with it cause like I said you basically can't turn your back against the net at all now when skating forwards or when your in the corner etc.

I agree that it was very op but they shouldn’t have removed it completely. I loved being able to make those half cuts watching opposing players completely miss on checks and pokes.

Yes if you know the controls. I Still probably pull the total control button moves off faster with the skill stick because I'm just used to it. But it does able players who haven't been able to do the lacrosse for example to do it now.

There was a couple new interception animations, but some passes still went through players so tough to say.

It was harder. Goalies felt faster behind the net and Defensive AI seemed to cover the post better.

Wrong. Hockey community made irrational subjective opinions of what they like/hate every year... EA decided to go realistic with presentation and followed suit... It's like being upset when they changed the one touch ice rule to a no touch icing call... EA still decided to add that into the game..

It gave me more like an old school NHL feeling. NHL 12-14 or lowkey 18 probably the closest. But I wouldn't compare it to any.

I've been playing hybrid for over 10 years and have been top 100 when I was a teenager and now div 1 every year since I'm an adult and have less time, I don't want to learn skill stick

100% it was a tool to give to the crappy passer's of the game. The real community stopped talking about adding it since like 2017 or 18. The NHL passing mechanics could never fly in any other games like Madden.. Way to much skill is needed to correct your aims. It's useless for the die hard NHL fans imo.

Poke and stick check is a weak weapon since nhl 15. Twists and turns, abusing LT/L2 to draw penalty is BS. If you LT at the same time of a Poke check, it should be an embelishment call. From my understanding, checks will be 'charged' like a shot (flick for a wrist/light bump to a pull-back and up for slap/crushing hit). The Poke should be the same - up - light, low risk, low reward, if it gets the puck off but too far. A wind up poke has more chance of pushing the puck far, but also to knock the skates from under the carrier.

poke checks are the default way to check a player. it is incredibly hard to carry a puck through traffic without getting sticks all over you and losing the puck. getting tripped by a poke check is also pretty rare. most trips are from a desperate attempt to poke check from a bad position or incidental when you're in the corner or something and someone skates over your stick while it's tangled up. Poke checking should be option 1, stick lift or light bumps/body contact option 2, and big hits option 3

@@Jasonboy765shut up, this is a hockey game that doesn’t even let you skate while stick handling, so of course people used other ways to score when realistic stick handling isn’t possible in the game.

😂😂 let me tell you the best "esport players" know how to play whatever type of hockey it's needed to compete. I personally play however it's needed to win games and adapt when needed. L2 or any of the other mechanical stuff is something I've never been the best at compared to some players. Passing and IQ has always been my biggest strenght so from competitive standpoint I love the changes. You’ll see 😘

I don't know a lot about HUT. HUT moments is at least a new game mode, so you can recreate IRL NHL moments in HUT for rewards etc.

New objectives Where you need to do specific stuff with specific player(or something like that), live stat/objective tracking in game or that’s at least what I understood from Thrash’s video
