Fun fact, the pressure system already been there from before for some years now, same with fatigue, i guess theyve just made it more clear with indicators. Its like they're just making it more easy for a begginer to play a hockey game by telling them how to and simplifying the controls/cheating on moves. I bet if 2k would just make a hockey game and really come up with some new refreshing video game mechanics for a hockey game, ea would be having a very bad year with nhl that year. If you think about it, we have been playing same game sinve 2015 already. And if you really be a dick about it, its really more like since 2008-2009

i been playing NHL since 1991..been always hyped for it expect for the last 4-5 years with little expectations. But I was always able to just suck it up and play. Unfortunately after trying the 10hr trial of NHL 24 I only lasted 10 mins lol.. i cant play this game anymore. Its sad we dont have any other options for NHL games anymore.

This is why i saved my $70 because i was already skeptical about the game and it's performance. They need to make player types matter again. There's no way a defensive defensemen should be doing the mission let alone a enforcer like Ryan reaves or Zdeno Chara size. Like going more into player type's would create the skill gap the game's been needing for year's because certain players such as the one's i previously named wouldn't be able to do certain dekes like the Michigan. Also i'd like to address the goalies as well because the goalie's have been like fish out of water the goalies need to get tired slower to avoid this......in real life if a team is hemmed up in there zone the goalie would be the only one remaining still to a extent which mean's he's using a lot less energy so if the offensive and defensive player's are tiring at let's say 10 percent the goalie should tire from the pressure system at let's say 2 percent.......like alot of thing's about this game i've noticed even in previous title's are a STRONG lack of attention to detail thing's that should just be flat out common sense and if they don't know something talk to REAL hockey players at least in the minors that can give you a perspective on what aspects of the game they could fix or change to make it realistic or actually hire dev's that know hockey..................or my final peace how about taking 2-3 year's off the release of the game strip the game completely rework the a.i new crowd animations or get away from animations all together and release patches in between time but EA is about out of excuses of why a billion dollar company can't hire the man power for 1-2 year's to get more work down to actually fixing the game and not adding thing's onto a already broken A.I like this was the perfect year with the pressure system to rework the a.i so the defensive and offense know to start cycling the puck in there zone and the offensive zone to actually set up plays they've yet to do that as well......and when it come's to be a pro it's ridiculous like you could of AT LEAST removed the cutscene's bare minimum

This is the first time in years I've actually really enjoyed how the game plays.

Pull back on hit stick to generate momentum and it feels rewarding. Game feels weird for sure tho.

I agree with half your points and disagree with half. In my experience passing is fine, hitting is fine. I totally agree about the unnatural on screen visuals and THATS maddening. And if the must, why not just move the pressure system crap that's in the middle of the play/screen and just CRAZY on to the boards since they're animating those… and make all of it removable if you wish?? And the disco lights on faceoffs are insane and distracting. I'd imagine they'll patch that. And I also agree they just keep taking things out and putting them back as “new”. So weird. That said I'll buy it because I do love hockey and have played these games since their inception. I also used to play 2K, which was GREAT for the time and their NBA franchise is so superior I can only imagine how great a current 2K hockey game could be. THAT’S what we need.. Healthy competition for EA to really step it up. Unfortunately just because I think hockey is the greatest I guess not enough others do to make it a worthwhile pursuit for 2k sports (or any other studio)👎🏻😢

I agree. The hitting isn't good and I can't stand the fact that we can't map our controls. I loved hybrid controls. I've been playing since 93 so I have always preferred usung the buttons to pass/slap shot. Over the last 10 years I've been playing with hybrid controls and using skill stick to deke and wrist shots. Don't think I'll dish out 80$ for this.

Yes it feels different, im enjoying it so far, gameplay feels more realistic to me.

why are there no more animations in the game

I'd recommend watching the reveal trailer. They at least explain the things they're doing. For instance, they've made hitting more of a skill than previous.

Yeah I bought the preorder I buy it every year. This year you cannot play offense. It is physically impossible to backhand/ forehand and use the skill stick to aim or move your shots. Idk what the fuck they did but it is ruined. The stupid touch controls is what they focused on for beginners. Don’t get me started on defense

The PS3 era of NHL games were far superior. It was all downhill from there

The graphics are awesome, the controls are absolute garbage. Worst controls since Decathlon on the Colecovision. But worse.

This game is trash, EA is trash, waste of money, it’s been the same for years and it’s insulating to charge people top dollar for a game that’s the same every year. Won’t buy probably ever again. Maybe 2k should make a NHL game, EA needs competition.
