For Detroit, ik throwing a dead octopus is something they actually do because it symbolizes good luck (ever since the 1952 Stanley Cup Playoffs) As for Nashville throwing Catfishes, I’m guessing it’s similar to Detroit throwing Octopi. But now, the NHL prohibits doing this during the games, only prior to it (when the players aren’t on the ice) So overall, they can bring them in since they are elements of luck to the teams

Not sure, but it was at the Shark Tank during our Stanley Cup Final year run. It was named Jo Paw-velski & the Marleau family ended up adopting it. It kinda became an unofficial mascot that year.

It was a curse, when they played Nashville in the 2nd round, they released a a black cat and named it “The Black Cat Curse” to try and put Nashville under a Hex kind of like what happened in Chicago with the Cubs and the goat. That went well for San Jose, they won that series, but have pretty much have not played the same since then.

- Superglue, smacking and treats go a long way in the wrong direction for the bear and the skating dog - Throwing anything else than headwear after a hat-trick on to the ice ought to bring at least a 10-year-ban for the thrower and their party The dog puck drops are great though.
