For those who don’t know: Fighting is “allowed” in hockey, but it’s a 5-minute penalty for both players. The rules of the fights are known as “The Code,” and its the poorest-kept secret in sports. The reason why fights are “allowed” is to allow players to police themselves; when tensions get hot, these are players with blades on their feet and scythes in their hands. And through The Code, no player has ever died from a fight on the ice. (Bill Masterson died from head injuries sustained during a fall, the only player to ever die on the ice in NHL history.)

That he could go into the corners knowing very few players on the other team are going to try to crush him into the boards made things a little easier for him 😂. Those who did try to crush him usually didn't come in as hard the next time 🤕, and if they did he would give them the starring role in his next Don't drop the gloves with the rookie video.

😂 The announcer at -5:43 sounds like the stand up comedian Tom Papa. -4:56 What fight was the announcer watching? He was yelling "they're throwing haymakers" blah blah blah even though we could see it was a boring fight. But you gotta love/laugh at Sabre announcers.
