All of these were great but I can’t help but feel the most emotional with T.J. Oshie and his dad. My nana had Alzheimer’s, it’s very hard to see someone struggling with it and I’ve been there first hand on what it’s like. Seeing T.J. struggle to keep himself together when talking about it in the interview then hearing his muffled voice crack when he hugs his dad, it truly makes it hard for anyone to keep it together. Very emotional and also very happy and fulfilling to see Oshie get to celebrate a cup with his pop, doesn’t get better than that

The Humboldt Broncos tribute and the Oshie reaction (I'm a St Louisan so he's still one of ours as far as I'm concerned) get me every single time. Non emotional point: once Maroon scored that goal I yelled in the basement, "He's a hometown hero!"...and then he said it at the Arch.
@frederickglass1583
@frederickglass1583 4 жыл бұрын
Emotional point: EVERYONE in STL cried when Maroon scored the OT winner to clinch the WCF vs SJ later that week. We ALL thought the blocked wraparound was the end of our run. Everyone KNEW that game 7 going into 2OT was a matter of "Who will make a mistake first, St. Louis or Dallas?" I can't BEGIN to explain the amount of anxiety that game personally gave me. Heart was racing the whole period up to Maroon's winner

NBC just reaired that game the other night. Might have to be my favorite moment of the postseason cup run. It's really something to think about, how close the Blues came to elimination, despite the 4 shots in 40 minutès. Was really the most important goal of all four series.

The Humboldt tragedy still brings tears to my eyes, even right now. As someone who works in hockey and travels on a team bus, it always sits in the back of my mind that there may be a possibility that you might never get home. I still can’t even begin to imagination the pain that the parents and friends of those players went through, but we all were affected by that sad day and it still stings even today. 💚💛

My take as a flyers fan! Bryan Bickell’s tribute truly shows hockey is so much more than hockey. They’re a family an unbreakable bond a true force to be reckoned with. His story breaks my heart but his tribute truly shows all his bests. And his comeback holy omg. I remember watching his last game, it was the first time I ever said I hope the other team wins. Truly so emotional. Luc Bourdon: what a tribute his teammates were clearly feeling it. You can see the sadness in their eyes. The stick taps, my gosh! They were practically breaking their sticks. And the live performance was so touching it fit the video so well. Moved me to tears Mother’s Day goal: This just really shows you that your loved ones will always watch protect and support you. NHL pays tribute to the Humboldt Broncos; this crash was the first time I was genuinely moved by something. I truly ached for the players, their families, friends, girlfriends, teachers, coaches, literary everyone in their lives. When the NHL did their tribute I was really emotional, I couldn’t believe that the nhl would honor such a “minor” team in such a grand way. Watching some of my biggest inspirations and most favorite players get emotional honoring the broncs was touching. This all again really shows the world and hockey fans that this game is more than a game Pat Maroon’s OT winner for the hometown team was literally once in a lifetime and their celly!! Watching TJ’s interview my heart ached. I can’t imagine how he felt and I don’t think I could ever be in that situation. Watching him show his true emotions to millions of people was so inspiring. And his quote “my dad doesn’t remember a lot of things but you bet your asses he’ll remember this” that had me in tears

The humboldt bronco tragedy is something that I still remember how much it hurt and how I knew nobody effected by it directly… but know this sport was completely effected everywhere. I still remember taking pictures of my hockey sticks leaning on my porch with the light in over night for quite awhile… there was something on social media about leaving them out for them. The whole thing is was just so devastating… I just can’t imagine how they all dealt with something like this.

Still remember being in college and dating someone who went to UND and hearing about this kid TJ Oshie that was such a big deal and going to the game I could see why. Blown away with him on the ice and then met him later that weekend and just thought he was a ton of fun and really got the vibe that he was a big deal around there lol kept up with his career over the years and so that moment definitely hit a bit different bc of that… even if I only met him a few times… I watched him play more times than I can count and so fun to watch.. you can see how much that meant to him. Having said that… this entire video just shows why this is the greatest game in the world. Hockey is just a different sport… the players and fans are a totally different breed but one of the best communities in the sports world!!!!

I was at the Blues first preseason game that year just a week or two after that happened and they did a little 5, 10 minute video tribute before the game. I'd love to see that again, being a preseason thing it's probably hard to find.
