After getting completely outplayed in the opening period, it looked like it was gonna be a long night for the Canucks, but Vancouver came out on a mission over the next 40 minutes & got the job done... DeSmith was outstanding in net in the 2-0 Victory.... On a different note, it would be nice to see the Canucks capitalize & score more often on all their breakaway chances....

This game is a good example of the results don't always tell you the whole picture. Canucks led 1-0 after one when they played poorly; but only scored another one in the next two periods when they played a lot better. Had they won by 1-0 the way they played in the first, no amount of spin can convince me that they are a good team. Now had they lost this game by, say, 2-1 the way they played in the second and third periods, I would say that this team has hope and will do well if they play consistently like that in the future. The manner of how they win or lose matters way more.

It was great to see DeSmith get a shutout because he played well & deserved it. The last game, Demko, let in 4 goals on 9 shots with the Devils. I truly believe that if they played Demko in this game, he would've let in 3 after 10 shots. Sometimes, the team feeds off that energy from their goalie when he's playing well, not kill their spirit to play catch up!

Can we please talk about why so much lumber happened to be in the offensive zone for the Wild tonight? Every time they got something going there where sticks all over the place. On top of that the refs where zebra's on ice, strait clown show. Why did ref think picking up a stick mid play was smart? Last 2 min there where 2 different sticks in the canucks zone, right when it was 6-5 empty net, how convenient. Power play, stick messes with the play. Ridiculous.
