You’ve also got to take skating into consideration. Every player now is in incredible shape and has to be at a near Olympic level of skating in order to compete. You’ve got to be able to time a hit perfectly. If not then all of a sudden you’re out of position and the other team has an odd man rush. It is also true that most players avoid heavy hitting now because of the whole CTE scare.

Ovechkin tried to break this guys back, Marchand tries to sever the Achilles Tendon on Oliver Bjorkstrand on the Kraken the last time they played took his left skate right up behind Bjorkstrands right ankle and pressed down you can TOTALLY SEE IT. Luckily the Rat didn't get him his blade got the protection plate on Bjorkstrands skate. Not the first time the RAT OF RATS had slue footed someone and severed the Achilles of a player.
