That Byfield goal is the GOTY because it is so pure. No luck whatsoever, every action was intentional, and nothing was wasted. Such a perfect play of skill.

@@andthatwuzthat Passive aggression for absolutely no reason, but I played for 8 years so its a nice assumption. Zegras's goal is replicable with practice, michigans are not hard if that's a specific thing you've worked on, regardless of where on the stick it is. Obviously doing it at an NHL level is impressive, but with literally no defensive coverage and a shit ton of time, it's not as impressive as Byfields, not even in the same remote league as Byfields.

Shit like that is stuff you do in practice for the hell of it. I never said it was easy, but that's a move he's clearly practiced a fuck ton. And is far less impressive than someone who went thru a defender, lost control of his stick in the process, grabbed it back whilst kicking the puck to his stick, and going forehand backhand on his knees. While going twice as fast as Zegras was. You're genuinely dull brained if you think that's anywhere near comparable. You must've been a 4th line stat dog with the ego you have holy fuck.

My favorite, which wasn't included here, was Malkin's backhand goal against Carolina in the '09 playoffs. The reaction by the network play by play announcer was priceless.

he cant be doing that in the playoffs its not that he dont have the confidence to do so its just he knows thats a super dumb thing to try and pull in the playoffs as its more than likely gonna get taken off him and come back the other way with a man advantage and on top of that he doesnt feel like he needs to be the one to do everything as everyone else has been stepping up and scoring to take some stress off of him

Stuff like these goals is y hockey is the best sport in the world!!? In my opinion! Its the best sport to see live and its constantly fast paced action and anything could happen in any game!? A team could be getting blown out and make an incredible comeback and win game!?anything can happen at anytime in games cuz the players r so insanely skilled!? To do what they do at the speeds theyre going is incredible!!?

I remember the stupid rule of no skate in crease, then almost every goal had to go to review. Most of these wonderful goals would be called back, so glad they got rid of it.

It's an absolute travesty that AP will put so many "regular" type goals on an "Unforgettable" list and omit both Florida teams from any highlights, especially with the Tampa Bay Lightning having two 'Highlight' players throughout the playoffs the last 5 years in Kutcherov and Point. Both have game winning/clinching goals that were unbelievable, during the playoffs and regular season. Not to mention Martin St. Louis in Game 6, 2OT, game winning, Cup saving goal from an impossible angle. So tired of all the Northern/Canadian haters!
