Thank you doctor, that was very helpful. Can we ask for a similar video about the typical day of the Medical Registrar in the NHS ? his ward duties , type of on calls - out of hours , ward cover , night on calls , etc - , clinics , and other duties and responsibilities in general .

Hi mam! Here in India the blood sampling is mostly done by nurses.. But what i have heard is that the blood sampling is mostly done by junior doctors or even registrars in the UK? Is that true? Also, mam what is your post presently.. is it SHO or Registrar?
@AceurMRCP
@AceurMRCP 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Arjun Routine or planned blood tests are done in the wards by the phlebotomists in the morning. Usually the nurses bleed the patient otherwise but it is equally expected of the junior doctors to help out the nurses if they are busy or if the patient are difficult to bleed. I am working as a registrar.

Hi This is a very valid point. Medicine doctors are overworked all over the world but you will have to find your own work life balance. If you are passionate about the subject, you will be able to find your happiness.

One question Do we need experience of medicine 2year in PG or any medicine experience before appearing for PACES EXAM?
@AceurMRCP
@AceurMRCP 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Karan It is imperative that you have at least 2 years clinical experience for PACES. I find it quite reasonable as you would need that time to develop your clinical knowledge. Please bear in mind that internship is considered as postgraduate clinical experience as essentially you are doing it after passing MBBS. So it is just one more year which would anyway be required to pass your Mrcp part 1 and 2. Interestingly you don't need to pass your part2 before PACES but it would be helpful to do part 2 first to consolidate your theory knowledge.

Hi ma'am. Is it possible to get into uk cardiology for MD(general med) guy from India? What about competition level? There is a talk that IMG remains as a register for many years cus due to high competition, they can't make into speciality residency.
@AceurMRCP
@AceurMRCP 3 жыл бұрын
Raj Cardiology is a competitive branch for UK specialty training and it is essential that the applicant understands the eligibility criteria , attains the require competencies and build his CV so that they can compete with UK graduates.Now, many of the competencies are difficult to obtain from overseas.For eg ,audits, quality improve projects, teaching experience etc are quite different in the NHS.Also there are specific criteria for the consultant who can sign you off for these competencies. Hence ,it becomes pertinent to work in the NHS before training application.If you are focussed is your goals and get the boxes ticked at par with UK graduates, you can definitely apply for any specialty you want.
