2004 worlds Ronnie was my favourite incarnation of Ronnie to watch. He was electric, and seemed so pumped up for it.

John Smith about that Hendry is best ever to pick up a cue and Ronnie is most talented to ever pick up a cue. i think Ronnie is the best ever, even he maybe didn't win as many tournaments as Hendry. this was in 2004 so i think he changed his opinion, but i don't know if he really did. it was just rhetorical.

Ronnie ended Hendry’s career in this match, he never recovered after this loss imo.

Furthermore, Hendry stated after his defeat in that match, that Ronnie is the best player in the world by a country mile. I dont think Judd Trump even in his top form could beat that Ronnie either

You can tell Steven was gone by his opening red he was out of position so quickly.. not in same league as Ronnie

I was never a Hendry fan, however it is clear he is far from his best here. His body language from the very beginning tells you that he knows he isn't. He wasn't remotely the player he was in the 90's. His form in the tournament was poor by those standards, highlighted by how few centuries he had going into the semi final. I think even without Reardon O'Sullivan would have beat him comfortably.

This is probably the worst Ive seen Hendry play. His body language seems so off. He did not seem so focused. Ronnie could smell blood and pounced.

to be fair hendry was in no way shape or form the player he was in this match. Watch their epic semi final in 1999, where hendry overpowers ronnie 17-13. And ronnie played well aswell.

@Liron Ladelskyhendry was damaged goods at this point in his career! Hendry at his best was the most relentless potting machine the game has ever seen! if the truth was told hendry was in decline in their semi final in 2002, But hendry found his old form after ronnie said he was "gonna send him back to his sad little life in scotland".

@Liron Ladelsky yes that's why Hendrys performance waz greater in 2002 and 1999. He made more centuries than Ronnie did here, did it comjng from behind and a against a formidable opponent who was on top form both times.

@Liron Ladelsky Factually incorrect - Hendry beat O Sullivan in 03 at those tournaments. This is in 2004. 2003 was Hendry's last great year in his peak bracket imo. Tbh Hendry's body language here is a bit off he doesn't look focused. Hendry demolished Higgins defending crucible champion like 12-4 in 2012 . But Higgins didn't turn up thats all it was.
