Okay, I hear you... BUT--- sometimes 50 no's and a yes, is still a yes. I can give you countless examples of these kinds of successes, including in my own life. (A lot of them are women who had gotten "friend zoned" by men as well, as documented by interviewing couples in street interviews asking the "friend zone" history question... it's actually amazing and busts a lot of myths). The fact is that it's not that black and white, and context really matters. ____ The most important thing is to be low-pressure. If you're not told to stop asking or it's harassment, it's acceptance. You know? Like... if YOU'RE STILL SUBSCRIBED TO THEIR EMAILS, and you have not clicked the "unsubscribe me from email newsletter" button... the game is still on. It's still possible for an offer to go through, that is considered too good to pass up with the right persuasion, and facts are the deal can still close. But I wouldn't recommend doing this to someone who would basically be "afraid" to say no because they can't please you. This is more ethical if the target you're working on has a backbone / confidence / self-esteem / self-awareness to be responsible for their own boundaries (a lot of people don't and I don't advocate pressuring or coercion in such a case). Yeah you can still pressure / abuse your way into some relationships... that's definitely a manipulative possibility on targets who don't have a backbone, but it seems unethical to me. Meanwhile, there IS such a thing as ethical persuasion -- and I could write a book on that, but I won't here. I will however, flesh it out a bit more, because I want to increase consciousness over this issue. ____ What everyone really has a problem with --- and just has not managed to articulate properly --- is that it's various aspects of subtle nuance and detail in the pursuit (I would say pressure and emotional manipulation from places of desperation and inconsiderateness). If you don't do anything like that and remain a consistent source of positivity for your target (because this is pursuit - I'll say it like it is --- romantic conquest, you're "hunting" for the partner lol) without actually being overly-attached to the outcome or letting that kind of energy seep into the relationship the potential for positive outcomes goes way up. Kinda like, "Yeah okay, I know you're not into me right now, but I'm still really into you, and all you gotta do is change your mind once, just saying" --- if you can maintain high value and play your cards well in that situation, that's one of the BEST frames I've seen work to make the target crack. But it's probably only gonna work if there was a LITTLE bit of interest to begin with. They have to be kind of on the fence, it's less likely to work on someone who just hates you. This is where social intelligence comes in, and most guys with these problems aren't gonna have it, though.
@RPEliott
@RPEliott 6 ай бұрын
@@bright-flame "No." is a complete sentence. It doesn't matter if it can change to a yes in the future, it doesn't matter if you can socially manipulate them into a yes later, it doesn't matter if they change their mind on their own, in the moment No means No, and "No." is a complete sentence.
@Saiyusa

@@bright-flameNo man. Instead of investing all this energy to make a girl say no *50 times*, put that energy into someone who says yes the first time. If I have to tell a guy no a second time, we aren't hanging out anymore. It's clear this person cannot be cool with us being platonic and that is awkward as fuck because now I know they're only fantasizing about having sex with me. And that fucking sucks because it means none of the other things about me are good enough for them if they can't get me in bed. They're not my friend and that inherently would make them a really shitty lover. That girl who *finally* said yes because you wore her down? It's not real. People are not targets.

This is so relevant in my life right now as I’m learning about one of my dear friend’s breakup and, the more I hear, the more his ex sounds like the voice in this song. When I first met his boyfriend, I first thought on the bare minimum of impressions, “Oh, he’s a nice guy.” Now, I think “oh, he’s a _nice_ guy.” I’m just happy my bro is outta that relationship. Which would be....normal as a behavior if he weren't doing it over text to someone who just told him no. It's fine to hype yourself up, just not... _at_ a person. As it is, that particular line can either lean further into the "I'm so perfect you'd be stupid not to date me" speech, or more usually it just veers off into the "In fact, I'm too *good* for you! Those guys have never harassed someone in this way before, but they don’t believe people who speak about being harassed. Everyone please be respectful to each other, reasonable with your thoughts and actions, and unbothered if rejected. Good luck putting yourselves out there, and stay safe! 💕

OMG Real Talk. 😅😂❤🎉 Have a friend who started out FWB. We once had a conversation about why women don't respond to his messages when they're rejecting him. I told him, "I can't speak for all other women, but I can tell you that I do the same thing and why I do it. I can also tell you, I wasn't always like this: when I first started dating in my early twenties, I thought it was only right that if I was going to reject someone, I should do it directly but gently as possible. However, after one guy ended up stalking me while 99% of the rest lost their marbles immediately upon getting rejected, I realized that it didn't matter how nice I was about it, most guys literally could not handle simply being told No, and so I decided it was far more important to preserve my mental health and my time by just.... Never responding to dudes I rejected, not even to tell them they didn't make the cut." My buddy didn't believe me and pestered that I should reject guys formally again. 🙄 To prove a point, although it's sad how like clockwork this worked out, I went through my DMs in a dating app the next week and saw someone who didn't cut it for me. I was polite and gentle but firm in my rejection notice to the guy. He immediately went ballistic, unnecessary insulting the same appearance he praised when he wandered into my DMs. I screenshot and sent it to my homie. He was, appropriately, horrified on my behalf. He really couldn't believe that dude spent all that time and effort on being cruel because it couldn't be him. My friend is not a bad person. He's just a little naive. 😅 He's got a good heart and I respect him for that- that's the only reason he elevated from an FWB to an actual friend for me..😅 I would have considered wifing that guy, but he has several issues he'd need to work on in therapy before that could be an option, because unhealed and/or refusing to heal mental issues is a deal breaker for me. 😅

@@a.j.outlaster1222 It happens because they think the woman they are pursuing owes them something since they made so many efforts to be with her. When it falls flat, not only is their self-esteem and ego hurt, but they blame the woman instead of just incompatibility, or themselves. I'm not sure why it happens more often with men, but there has to be a biological and social reason.

@@syedarizvi7290 I think there are heaps of lovely pockets of Reddit, but the more mainstream the sub, the more likely you are to see some garbage. Did you unsubscribe from the default communities new accounts get added to? That'll definitely help. I've also joined a ton of different types of subs over the years, even for stuff I'm more tangentially interested in rather than communities I have any intention of regularly participating in. I think that probably helps keep your front page populated with the actual best posts across all those groups, instead of some less-ideal posts from a smaller number of subscriptions. And then you can use custom feeds to browse groups on specific topics when you wanna get your cute cat fix, for example. Plus, instead of just upvoting posts you like, you might have more success with recommendations if you hit the three dots at the bottom of suggested posts on the front page and try selecting "show more/less posts like this". I'm sorry if you were already doing that and it hadn't helped - I just wanted to make sure, since I don't think it's necessarily super intuitive. You're also not at all obliged to enjoy Reddit, of course! Like with any platform, it absolutely has its pros and cons. But I honestly reckon I see way worse stuff here these days, and engaging with people can also be more frustrating because of the arbitrary and inscrutable moderation - that stuff is all handled so much more clearly and humanely on Reddit, which makes it easier to avoid incels by just being in spaces that don't tolerate them 🙂

Imagine thinking you’re “a nice guy” while harassing a woman who kindly turned you down. The sheer audacity. What was it, 3 dates and she said “I’m just not feeling it” and he goes “NUH UH YOU ARE TOO”. Jfc people exhaust me. I can’t imagine feeling entitled to someone’s time and affection like that. It’s fucking chilling. Just take the loss and move on, it’s really not that hard - harassing a person is going to get the police called on you, not convince them to date you/stay with you/come back.

Imagine getting three dates with a guy and then telling about "romantic spark" in a fucking messenger? I bet he even paid for the dates, as usually happens. Yeah, his frustration is more than justified, as she should've told him that IN PERSON, after the first date. It's likely that he wouldn't be so disappointed then.

There's a very common trope in romance plots where one person wins the other person over through what is basically stalking and harassment with pretty music and attractive people. They think it's that way in real life. Be persistent you'll get a yes. Do things for them and they'll be even more inclined to say yes. Then it doesn't work, so they get angry and blame it on the other person for not following the script they wrote in their heads to attain the prize (not person, just prize.) Meanwhile, almost every person on the receiving end goes "great. Another one of these fuckers." And the handful that fall for it realize soon enough that it's a terrible situation.
