In 60 seconds, Nike encapsulated the current arrogance of the USWNT program. Four games...one victory...against Vietnam. Sophia Smith is a very talented player and has a bright future. But it's poetic justice that she missed the PK that would have won the game.

That’s on the Manager. He took Morgan out and placed her with rapinoe. When In reality at the 99th minute he should have been thinking PKs and taken Smith out instead for Rapinoe, Morgan likely makes that PK I place of Rapinoe and the games done

We can "coulda, shoulda, woulda" about the manager. But the reality is: She had the chance to beat the other team...and she didn't. "Nice to Beat You" rings hollow...

This Sophia Smith Ad is the best (certainly the most original) of all the Nike one-minute players to watch at the 2023 world cup commercials (there are quite a few of them). The Megan Rapinoe (thunder Cat style) Ad is a bit wack but the Debinha (Brazil) one is pretty good.

There is no doubt the USWNT has been phenomenal, but when you do these types of things, you stop being confident and start seeming entitled. It's fine to feature future stars, but come on. This doesn't only convey confidence. I love to watch soccer whether men's or women's. The hype was immense. It brings it's own pressure. Even though I'm critical of the marketing they gave it everything. Respect.
