Curt Hennig vs. Nick Bockwinkel from 11/15/1986 on AWA TV for the World Championship was a 5 star classic in my opinion.

Personally it's my 2nd favorite match of all time, a true masterpiece for those who really enjoy scientific wrestling. Pro wrestling 101, a match every students of the game should study.

This just popped into my recommended in March 2021..... I watched a lot of wrestling, but in the '80's I didn't tape a lot of matches for posterity. I taped that match and remember the ending, both covered in blood fighting the figure 4. Incredible wrestling match. Bockwinkel is vastly underrated, he was great as a champion.

Curt like so many other wrestlers died ad a result of a drug overdose. It's so sad and unfortunate because he had so much life left to live. Nick was,right a tremendous talent just like Nick. They are both sadly missed.

Curt was one of the all-time greats even though he was never in a spot to show it either in the WWE or WCW. He was Nick's natural successor as AWA champion.
