Shane's, just right dickered. Nick's smiling through out with the wickedest of grins, not often you say that guy crack a smile!

My condolences, the holiday season can be extra rough on those grieving. If looking into Nick Cave is something you're doing for your father, I'd suggest giving the album Skeleton Tree a listen, for you. It may be the single greatest album on the subject of grieving. You have to concede that praise is a wee bit hyperbolic?..love both these guys and the extensive catalogue of both, buts its very easy to take their place in the literary/music world..i don't think we need to stop listening to everybody else to notice it ; )

Nothing to do with me beyond offering a personal opinion. I was just making a suggestion to any vinyl or CD collector on an extremely tight budget yet through it all keeping heart, soul, and mind intact, out there. Could be their greatest reward contained within those discs.

The song is so resonant, love the way the audience reacts to just the first words. Then Nick and Shane - despite obvious 'limitations' deliver such a great version. Thanks for putting this up, and RIP, the brilliant Mr McGowan.

Excelent! Two of my favourite singers together, and both smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol on stage. The last concert I attended ever was Nick Cave in 1994 at the "Coliseu dos Recreios" in Lisbon, Portugal. In 1994 the world was still a free place for smokers and drinkers. I don't like the way the world has become in western europe; too many civil liberties have been lost. Mr. Tyler Smith, whoever you may be, thanks for uploading this video.

Lá de cima vi a esposa do Nick Cave com o filho deles ao colo, com uns grandes auscultadores nas orelhas, a ver o o pai pela entrada lateral do palco. Também me lembro da malta da primeira fila oferecer cigarros já acesos ao Nick Cave. Tu deves ser cá da malta que ia às matinés da Jukebox, ali perto, alguma bruxinha da velha guarda, de quando só serviam vinho branco carrascão, cerveja e amendoa amarga, e aindam apareciam velhotes a jogar às cartas, antes da 2ª fase dos shots da Bruxa Quente, Sangue de Cristo e afins...

I was in a pub with my girlfriend at the top of Dame St in 2001, about 6:30pm on maybe a Saturday. Doors burst open, in marches a really drunk Shane McGowan, with his minder/manager/staff member in hot pursuit. The two of them speed through the pub and out the door at the end. I checked up and McGowan was playing the Olympia Theatre, 5 mins walk down the street, that night with gig starting at 9pm. I can only imagine what state he was in by then! PS: I checked, it would have been Shane McGowan and the Popes, May 19, 2001. The pub was what is now Zampas restaurant. It was, indeed, a Saturday.

Can u imagine the amount of drugs in this pair.Enough to knock out a herd of cows.Shane McGowan I think has dodged a bullet for years.And it's caught up with him.Sickening to see him at a funeral a short while ago in Ireland. In a wheelchair looking frail. Just lost Delores can't lose him to. What a woman and what a man. Sinead O'connor looks well so God bless all of them.RIP Delores.

Some years back, an Irish friend took me to the Irish bar in UK. Old times, 11pm closing time. Curtains drawn and the doors are locked. One of the best nights on piss in my life. I think we've all raised a glass for Shane, bless him RIP

Once had this show tapped off the TV Think my VHS melted next to a radiator (not joking) :( I believe it was a NME charity show billed as a Birthday Party reunion although it was just Rowland Howard guesting on a couple of old Birthday party songs. Would love to see all of the rest of the show again.
