Ντραγκιτς Ντονσιτς Νοβίτσκι Πάρκερ Διαμαντίδης Σπανούλης και Γιάννης Αντετοκούμπο είναι πλέον οι μεγαλύτεροι Ευρωπαίοι παίκτες... για την εποχή του ο Γκάλης ήταν πολύ περισσότερο γυμνασμενος από τους άλλους παίκτες και γι'αυτό έκανε την διαφορά συν ότι το μπάσκετ τότε ήταν πολύ πιο διαφορετικό με σήμερα οπότε τον αφήνουμε στην άκρη ως απλώς ένας καλός παίκτης της αρχαιότητας...,!!!

Ντραγκιτς Ντονσιτς με εθνική Σλοβενίας, μία πολύ μικρή χώρα πήραν για πλάκα το Ευρωμπάσκετ το 2017...ο Γιάννης αυτό που έκανε με τους Μπακς χωρίς να υπάρχει στο ρόστερ κάποιος υπερπαίκτης και με τον τραυματισμό που υπέστη πριν τον τελικό απλώς δεν υπάρχει, με 50αρα στο τελευταίο ματς παρακαλώ.... ο Νοβίτσκι μόνος του με μία εθνική Γερμανίας ανύπαρκτη στον μπασκετικό χάρτη έφτασε στον τελικό του Ευρωμπάσκετ το 2005 , απλά ήταν άτυχος που έπεσε στην απίστευτη εθνική μας του Παναγιώτη Γιαννάκη... Διαμαντίδης και Σπανούλης είναι γνωστό σε όλους το μπάσκετ που έπαιξαν και τις επιτυχίες που σημείωσαν σε συλλογικό επίπεδο αλλά και με την εθνική μας, Ευρωμπάσκετ 2005 και αργυρό μετάλλιο στο μουντομπάσκετ το 2006 έχοντας κερδίσει τους Αμερικανούς Λ.Τζειμς, Άντονι, Γουέιντ και Πολ...!! δεν θα ξανά γίνει ποτέ!!! χωρίς να μετράω κιόλας τις επιτυχίες στο ΝΒΑ των υπολοίπων όπου είναι αρκετές...

While it's difficult to know if he would have developed his game in the NBA the same way he did in Greece, there's no doubt he was already at Larry Bird and Magic Johnson levels when he went into college. As Red Auerbach, the famous Celtics coach, said his single biggest in his career was not signing Nick Galis. The reason for that was that he had signed Larry Bird and thought that was enough. It would be essentially the same as the Lakers not bringing in Magic Johnson as they had Kareem. The rest is history. To understand how good Galis was, you have to look at Giannis Antetonkoumpo who's MVP but can't replicate what Galis did for the national team because Galis had infinite shooting opportunities as opposed to 2-3 that most NBA legends do. Clearly Giannis assumed he could do the same and wants to prove that against these so-called farmers only to find out that he isn't as good as Galis and has a very different game - Giannis needs a team just like almost every other player does. No offense intended to Giannis who's a phenomenal NBA player and with a good team can be devastating. The reason I replied was to show you how a normal player like you would argue (assume you're a professional player) and then Galis would step and score 30 points on you while you're wondering if you've ever played basketball. National coaches said there was nothing they could do to stop him and that applies to today's game too. It's tough to stop the US national team but it was impossible to stop Galis.

If NICK was for example 6.4 instead or 6 he would have been one of the greatest scorers of the NBA because his natural place was a shouting guard and not a point guard and he was too short for that position. At his pick Nick Galis was the best in his position in the world. Just mention 1 case where MJ won the best opponent in a series having co-players of less calibre. Let’s say against the Celtics he never managed to win although he played amazingly well. Also there was a whole system supporting and promoting him. Nick Galis was a different kind of hero, Greek of course.

Galis is phenomenal player dont do silly comparisons. He was hugely better than Byron Scott. He would average more than 25 points and some years over 30.

More like 30 years before. I think you might be right about their game but with an asterisk. Galis in Europe was a combo player and one of the best passers of his generations but here his scoring overshadowed litterally everything. He had immense scoring records with an incredible efficiency of career +60FG%!! However if he had played his entire career in the NBA in the Celtics who drafted him, then Galis would have been a different player. He most likely would have been a first pass player like CP3 and Galis statline probably would resemble very much CP3 statline. With all the great players the Celtics had Galis in the 80s as a PG would average something like 10 assists for the majority of his career and his scoring career numbers would probably have been less than 20ppg not because he didn't have the talent to score, but because he wouldn't take the same amount of shots like he did in Europe. So the European version of Galis was not a player like CP3. However an NBA version of Galis in the Celtics during the 80s and early 90s, well that player would have been very close to the player that CP3 is. But with a huge difference. Galis would have ended with something like 5 or 6 rings whlie CP3 hasn't won anyone. That is why after all Auerbach stated that not signing Galis back then was the only big mistake of his career. Because he felt after seeing the career Galis had and the level of game he reached, that if his Celtics had his as well in the roster with that great team they already had that won 3 rings, they could have made a dynasty being the major force of the 80s instead of the Lakers.

It was a different basketball back then.

They do, they very very much do. But 1) every time they do he still scores in many ways ( break back backwards or stay longer in air etc) 2) he was super fast change of direction 3) he would protect the ball amazingly. He was very very strong. 4) he did not get tired and ran all game.

Όχι ότι δεν θα μπορούσε να είχε κάνει καριέρα με το 1,83. Απλά θα έπαιζε αποκλειστικά point guard και όχι shooting guard. Το μόνο ανώτερο στοιχείο του Ντραζεν έναντι του Νικ ήταν το καλύτερο σουτ από το τρίποντο.
