I'm glad I'm not the only one that believes Nick should have gone with Ahmanet. Not too many movies nowadays have a 'bad' ending.

I really wish they make alternate ending where he ended with Ahmanet

The funny thing for me is that by halfway of the movie, I had already switched sides and I really wanted Ahmanet to win and to complete her ritual on Nick so he had succumbed to her offer and rule the world with her... That would have made the movie a hundred times more interesting. That ending with the blond girl drowning, Nick killing the mummy and saving Jenny felt kind of predictable and lame. I would have changed the end so Nick would have been able to resuscitate the Jenny once he took her out from the water, but then, while they celebrate and hug each other, the mummy would have come and taken Nick by surprise so she would have stabbed him with that dagger and he became Seth. It would have been more consistent with Nick's character and it would have been a great opening for the dark universe of monsters...

My main problem with this movie was them calling it "The Mummy" after letting Tom Cruise take over.

The biggest plothole here is Set, a literal deathly evil god letting a simp mortal using his divine power with no deal or agreement. Are they going to shows innocent side of Set in the future or what?

Nick wouldn't have been able to fight Set's control once he got fused into the body. I think if they kept Set and Ahmanet as monsters like what Ahmanet's original plan was, they could have made a sequel about the monster hunters trying to save Nick from Set's control. I really wish Ahmanet at least would survive, I really liked the way Sofia Boutella played the part and I think she made a very charismatic villain.

I honestly don't know why the critics put down this movie. This is real acting by professionals. There's something about this movie that moves me. The Mummy trilogy by Brendan Fraser does not move me like this. This film is nice.

Sofia Boutella is so pretty in the thumbnail! Also, regardless of how bad it did at the box office, I still like this film! I like how they portrayed Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as a sort of “split personality” rather than just a hugely deformed man.

I had alot of sympathy for Ahmanet after this movie. She was promised control of an entire kingdom from birth until young adulthood, and as soon as she gets a baby brother, all promises revoked. Killing her family was a bit extreme imo, but they were stupid enough to seal her in a resurrectable death where she could come back and take her revoked promise. This is one villain whose reason for world domination I can understand. Keeping in mind I said understand, not agree with. That being said, you also can't help but love their idea of a good camera angle. I swear half of every shot behind her is at butt level (typical).

I gotta be honest this has probably gotta be one of the more caring villains we have seen in a while (and no I'm not counting villains who turn to good guys) cuz she constantly is asking for him to give in to her and is telling him she wants to take his pain away. That and she shows concern and shock when he stabs himself further proving she cares for him and is indeed in love with him.i genuinely believe Ahment loved him and cared about Nick

Ahmanet herself is one of the few good things about this movie. The rest is just written SO Poorly. Thanks a lot Tom Cruise. Oh Her and Russel Crowe's Mr.Hyde. He was enjoyable.

I love the Ahmanet Godess! She is a true princess with great body, acting, expressions, pity he coudn't choose you.

Supposed to be scary, ugly, and hated. Ends up being Hot as fuck, awesome, and pretty much the entire audience would chose her. Great film-making guys.

The movie was honestly not that bad, it really could've paved the way to more amazing movies in the dark universe. It's a shame it didn't do well in the box office.

The biggest mistake of Universal was giving Tom Cruise SO much creative control. I would even go so far as to say casting him in the first place was a mistake. He took the story focus away from the whole _Mummy_ theme (which the film was even named after) and put it on his character...a random Ethan Hunt-esque type character. In fact, I don't even remember his character's name in this film. I just refer to him as "Tom Cruise", because that's who he always ends up playing anyway, no matter the role; _Tom Cruise_ . This felt more like a _Mission Impossible_ film than _The Mummy_ . Which is awful because Sofia Boutella was absolutely _terrifying_ in this film....I _LOVED IT_ . But then Tom Cruise couldn't handle the star being someone other than _his_ character. This was especially disappointing because the whole _Dark Universe_ concept had SO MUCH potential. They should not have allowed the Dr. Heckle character to go "Mr. Hyde" in this film. Like, I enjoyed his introduction. He could have been a nice little wink to the audience on what is to come... but having him transform could have been saved for a future film. If they reboot this film, I hope they ditch the whole Time Cruise character.

I just realized a way they could've fixed the casting and choices they made in this movie, and also, a huge missed opportunity. Hammer Horror remade the classic Universal Monsters more gory with a different take, starring actors like Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and David Prowse. These actors would later go on to star in the Star Wars franchise as characters in the original and prequel series. I was thinking, why not switch out Tom Cruise with Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker? That way, it kinda comes full circle with Universal Monsters; Universal, to Hammer, to Star Wars, and back to Universal. Also, Hayden would make more sense as a "younger man" as Russell Crowe quotes later as Mr. Hyde. I know Anakin was flawed as one of Hayden's roles, but had he been cast as younger Anakin in Phantom Menace, and had Lucas not had so much creative control in directing and writing, it might have turned out a little better. Also, the guy has had good movies in his career, like Shattered Glass, Awake, Jumper, and Outcast.
