The correct answer is that it's all of those people and at the same time none of them specifically. What they're essentially parodying is the type of celebrity who hit megastardom in the '80s or '90s, then fell off the map in the ensuing decade as a result of drugs or alcohol or both. They let the fame and fortune go to their head, and since they weren't really that intelligent to begin with, they /really/ lost touch with the human experience. Then, through a mixture of pseudo-yoga, mindfulness, and spirituality, they began to believe that they had gotten it back, even though everyone else around them knows that's totally untrue. What you get is exactly what Mulaney and Kroll are so masterfully portraying: a couple of spacey, funnily-dressed, botox-injected washed-up stars spewing nonsense about the meaning of life, how blessed they are, and what their latest book is called.

I wish more artists entertained us in this way when they appear on talk shows. Much credit to them and to Conan for airing them on his show. Brilliant, guys. Can’t wait for the next appearance (even if it’s 60... or like what.. 70 Years from now. Rock on).

Justin Bieber tends to act more like a stereotypical black kid from the 80s... but yes, there's definitely a mix of this entire act in there, too😂 Celine Dion is multilingual and super humble, but Matthew McConaughey embodies a spirit of perfect douchery wherever he goes🤣💀 Adam Levine... oof, never really grew out of the rebellious thick-skulled teenage boy phase, did he?🥲 There's a South Park episode that portrays Bono's personality PERFECTLY. You should see it! It's literally called "More Crap."
