I hijacked Nick in front of the Fillmore one night w/5 friends in a taxi waiting to go to dinner. I had about 12 titles (incldg the reissue of 'Jesus Of Cool' w/bonuses) & the poster. He thought he was being rude to his pals 'I'm going to dinner!' & I kept saying 'They're not going anywhere! Come on, please - it's not like we're neighbors & I see you in the store. HERE- 'True Love Travels On A Gravel Road' - import single (EP); 'They're waiting for me!' "& they know this is you being gracious to a big fan. Here's the reissue w/bonuses of 'Jesus Of Cool'. Then another one w/'All Men Are Liars'. Eventually I let him go but I was smiling, he didn't really mind & the front of SF’s/The Fillmore is a perfect background to put things against for autographs! Bless you & Thank you for your generosity, Nick Lowe for being 'cruel' to them to be 'Kind' to me!

I remember seeing this video as a teen in the late 70s/early 80s, I thought it was cute and funny then didn't think about it again. Then in the early 90s I was watching CMT and a video came on called Every Little Thing. I recognized the singer from the Cruel video and busted out laughing. I had no idea Nick Lowe had married one of June Carter Cash's daughters. And Carlene is talented, too. Love her music.

So many songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s have stood the test of time !!!! I wish I could pour you a glass of wine and let you listen to my music collection (please don't take that the wrong way !) . I think these decades were the 'sweet spot' for music. From Bowie to The Rolling Stones the most incredible music was created (not forgetting Abba or ZZ top.........). If I had a time machine I'd spend the rest of my life going back to watch these musicians live whilst catching up with my parents, sister and lost friends.

Nick's mates from Rockpile play the "Textones", that's Dave Edmunds also playing the chauffeur. The bride is Nick's real-life wife at that time, Carlene Carter. Carlene was Johnny Cash's stepdaughter, the daughter of June Carter Cash.

This was the anthem of my relationship with my bf. Right after it came out, I went away to school. We were on again, off again until the following summer - they were still playing that song, too. Loved it. Bf became my fiance, then my husband. Great memories listening to this!

I saw him at the Xponential Music Fest in Philadelphia 20 years ago. After his set I was wandering around. Many of the artists would do a meet and greet after, and I saw him sitting all by himself at a table. I felt rather sorry for him and thought about going to sit with him but I couldn’t think of anything to say. And, not for nothing, but Carlene Carter was a babe.

I absolutely without a doubt love this song!! Recall when I first heard it in 1981, fell instantly in love with it!! Sounds very retro, has a sixties feel to the consist of it all. This my first viewing of Stiff video..Believe that's Mr Dave Edmunds himself, playing in the backing band, and doubling as his limo chauffeur to boot. Very underestimated bunch of playersthis was, part & parcel of the stalwart band, "Rockpile". Just recently reworked the chords to this great Lowe composition, wanted to get on here to see a video..certainly found it! Love it!! Keep rockin', Nick & Dave!! Sam A.
