Because of his good look, people often not giving him the credit for his talent, passion, hard work, dedication, & persistence. Yes, vocally, not as strong as others, but he has his own unique style. I m very impressed. I found the judges’ comments a bit unfair.

Amazing voice! He has always mastered the stage. I am an avid fan of his. How I wish I could vote for him, but I am here in Europe. I have an American phone #, but American Idol doesn’t t allow people to vote through phone calls anymore.

Nick is the only real interesting fresh talent not only of his unique voice, stage presence, good looks, passionate performance but as a songwriter! He's the total package!

His voice honestly doesn't stand out. There's just something not 100% about it. He's flat a lot of the time too. Nothing against him tho

Yeah. I wish he was in more shows and movies because his acting was really good. It's a shame that Every Witch Way was one of the only shows he starred in.

He has the stage presence and attitude, but vocally he is not up to par with this year’s contestants; most of these kids are not up to par. They’re all talented but this year’s group is CRAZY strong.

His voice is ordinary. It doesn't stand out from the music. He shouldn't have cut his hair short. It's like he rehearsed all of this ahead of time with a choreographer and didn't seem free. He should have sung a cover. Oh well.

He doesn’t have the most original voice. He seems over rehearsed and too staged. The spread legs, the torn jeans and referring to himself by his name in the third person give off a douchey aura of someone you find in a nightclub. He did write a good song and maybe that is where his strength is. But wtf where was Dillon James? He was far better and went further than Merico.

i liked how the video cut off Katys comment at the end, they should just cut her off from the show entirely shes the worst judge on the show they really are scraping at the bottom of the barrel having her on the show.

Yes, Nick is great, but Miss Phillips is really much better. OM G I knew Makayla was better than her finish last year, but this is incredible!! TEXT C8 TO 2 1 5 2 3 TO HELP MAKAYLA GET TO THE TOP TEN. What a competition it would be between Casey and Makayla OH, youse guys don't know how much I want to see a competition between Makayla and Casey for the rest of the Idol shows. Chills upon chills just thinking about it.
