I learned from listening to Travis Scott's music that mixing isn't really that important as long as sound selection is good and the mix isn't stupid. It just doesn't have to be perfectly tweaked like most people make it seem

Ryan Lintner bro there's an Interview with mike dean where he's talking about how all of Travis' music is at like 4db. And listen to stargazing, all the clipping and that stupidly loud snare. It just made me realize that as long as sound selection is good, no need to put all these eq's and effects to make it sound levelled or "perfect" in the mix

The grass always looks greener on the other side, until you get there and you realize the grass isn't quite as green as it appeared to be. I mean I'm sure he has people that manage a lot of the business side if things for him. But you gotta be on high alert for people trying to screw you when there's big money flying around like that. You also have the pressure from friends and relatives wanting handouts. People start to think you're way wealthier than you actually are, not understanding that a lot of the money you do make has to be reinvested and uncle sam is taking bigger cuts now because your income is higher. Those are just a few things. It's not as carefree as it appears on your phone when you're watching him. It's constant work and constant thinking about everything. when you're making big money like that one little mistake could cost you everything you have and then some. And all those people you looked out for probably won't be there to help pick you back up. Just some things to think about. There's a lot to be learned from seeing what happened to other artists and businessmen/women that fell off. We like to think that if we make it we'll never lose it. But that's quite often not the case. If you haven't watched it yet, and I mean anyone who reads my comment, I highly suggest checking out the recent interview Dame Ritter just did with Hopsin. It goes in depth on what happened with Funk Volume. Lots of valuable lessons to be learned. Good luck everyone! Make 2021 your year!🎶🤑

1) bring up 808 under 0dB with some headroom 2) bring in clap not too loud or quiet but around the same as 808 3) bring in hats to taste, usually a little quieter than clap and 808 4) tuck percs in the background 5) make the kick a bit louder than 808 6) bring the melody in 7) put limiter on master fader, raise the gain until it sounds crushed then pull it right back, don’t go over 0dB

I used audacity and the effects that came with it to produce a song for my friend on soundcloud that has 130k plays and counting to this day (the mp3 on there is low quality too lol and ppl still f with it), dont let anyone tell you your mix isn’t perfect. you could sit there for days trying to make it perfect, but good enough will suffice. if it sounds good it is good
