I love how this demo for 1 pedal grew into setting up a whole bank of equipment. THIS is the demo I wanted to see. I have a hard time believing this pedal is just so plug and play like other demos make it out to be and this video addresses it. Thank you.

Brilliant idea using the Slicer to keep the loop in time. I don’t think I would have ever thought of that. Also really cool to see a DL-8 in the picture and I thought it was interesting to see the flipping through presets on the Particle to create a sound using all of them. Really inspiring, I really like this approach.

The Empress Midibox gives you multiple TRS outputs that work on Meris or Strymon pedals. These are different from normal TRS MIDI in that they are bidirectional and use the ring for return data. Normal TRS MIDI has the constant voltage from pin 4 wired to the ring and you can just get a cheap cable that converts DIN MIDI to TRS MIDI.

This is a very complex pedal. I have watched several videos about it and realized that it can produce wonderful or hideous results depending on *WHO* is using it, because this is one of the rare pedals that you can't just drop it in your pedal board and start using. At least not if you want to do decent stuff. Instead it demands a lot of efforts and experiments until finding a pleasant result. This is one of the reasons why I still didn't buy one.

This is so funny ridicoulus. To make use use of a Boss Slicer, simply add gear worth over 1000 bucks to it. Than play a guitar, but turn the whole rig into a pro synth-desk, where the guitar acts as a midi-type input controller. And than loop the hole thing, so it plays itself. 😂🥳

The only thing I've to complain about BOSS and SL-2 is that after 4 weeks of wasting time trying to figure out the MIDI problem about CLOCK and all the stuff, the fact is that SL-2 works ONLY with BOSS MIDI to TRS owner cable like "Yes we said it's MIDI, same jacks, same pins, but not precisely the INTL STANDARD that it's should be, you know, just a couple of inverted PIN just to make you buy out 25 bucks BOSS cable"

The Boss SL-2 and their other pedals work with a typical MIDI TRS Type A cable. It isn't there own in house invention or anything.

Sorry to disappoint you: a "typical" TRS midi cable has standard schematics. A Boss B-midi cable has a pin inversion which is not a Standard, and Boss customer service has proved me right. I own it and the customer service was very helpful, fortunately.

Strongly disagree. Try taking the slicer and attaching it to an expression pedal (I found my much-cheaper “On-stage” pedal worked fine for this. It will slow the slicer bests down by about 75% - NOW you can make grooves that sound better than the results of this video, frankly

I watched that video with a very curious and open mind, only to be very confused and disappointed. I was curious as to why that pedal actually sells, only to become more puzzled.
