As a graduate of Alabama during Saban’s legendary run, he was regarded as so much more than a legendary coach for his players and the rest of the students at Bama. He was the perfect example of sportsmanship, leadership and most importantly, a human being that wanted nothing more than the people around him to succeed and reach their full potential. Not only did he help over 100 players in his career reach their dream of making it to the NFL and create a lasting legacy for their family’s, he also mentored multiple of his assistant coaches that went on to become successful head coaches in the NCAA that he would have to compete against. Love or hate Bama, it’s hard to argue that this man is not only the GOAT of college football but also the pinnacle of what a coach should be at any level. Thank you Coach Saban for all you have done for Bama, the sport of football and for all the lives you touched during your career. Roll Tide

I have been a Bama fan my whole life. I agree that he set the standard at LSU and Alabama. Everyone who takes those jobs will be compared to him and how he was able to get the very best out of his players BUT I think its unreasonable for Saban to be considered the standard across the board. Most people agree that what he accomplished at Bama will never be seen again. Just like everything else, it will be broken down into eras. We had the shitty pre BCS era, then the BCS, now the playoff and NIL. Saban will go down as the best ever but I hope the unreasonable expectations people put on a coach from the Saban Tree eases up. I think its Kirby Smarts era now.

@CourtDrew *"Just like everything else, it will be broken down into eras. We had the shitty pre BCS era, then the BCS, now the playoff and NI"* History will have it. The BCS was despised, and Saban won 4 NC in 4 tries and then a playoff came to be and Saban won 3 NCs in 8 tries giving total credence to why the BCS needed to go away. In short, his BCS NCs will be regarded in the same light as OU's 47-0 run.

You know the one thing that makes his tenure that much more incredible is something folks rarely think about. At any point in time during his coaching, between 1/4 and 1/3 of his team was brand spanking new, every year. Absolutely incredible not only to 1. Teach kids to play at that high of a level. But 2. To instill an insanely high amount of character in each of those kids in such a short period of time. The guy truely is a second father figure to thousands of players and really is what all coaches, whether it be little league to D1 football, should be like.

When he was hired, I could never have imagined the success that he would have at Alabama, even in my wildest dreams. At a certain point in his legendary run as a fan, I wouldn't question whether or not Alabama would win, but how much they were going to win by. As a fan base, we have been very fortunate to witness the success that Coach Saban has brought to this program and school. Of course, you must remember to mention Mrs. Terry's influence on the program and all she did for the community. The state of shock I had when he finally said he was retiring was immeasurable, but I had to look back at all the years of sensational football that he and the teams provided us as a fanbase and just be thankful to be here to see it happen. It was statistically the greatest run by any coach at a program ever by the best coach to ever teach players the game of football. Thank you, Coach Saban, Mrs. Terry, the players that played for Coach Saban, and the entire Saban family for the dedication and sacrifice yall made all these years! Roll Tide Roll!

Nick Saban was one of the most amazing winningest football coaches. No one can take that from him. Him, along with the players' talent and his game plan, produced many outstanding players who are very successful on and off the field.

He just gave master class on humility. Always coaching, teaching, and making you a better person. Even if you aren't an athlete you take away words of wisdom. I hope and pray he never stops being vocal. Preach Coach and we will listen. Thank you for all you do ❤. RTR 🐘
