Before bodybuilding I ran ultra marathons. I know all about garmins. You don't need a $600 watch. I used a $200 watch for 30-50 mile races. Just depends on what your goals are. Feel free to contact me and I'll help how I can.

When it comes to the iifym coaches they usually provide a food list as well (justin harris), and that doesn’t include the dirty stuff so when it says 10g of fat, you only get a choice between olive oil, nut butter, nuts, coconut oil, avocado, etc. 100g of carbs would need to be rice, rice cake, potatoes, etc

I have a Garmin Instinct ($150-$200) and it's more than any of us will ever need. It pairs up to smart phones no problem. The higher end $600.00 Garmin's are way overkill. Even the best runners in the world don't use all the perks the expensive ones offer. Great Podcast.

Before the internet, waiting for that one day a week your favorite radio show, so that you could sit next to the radio and press record when a good song comes on, onto your cassette mix tape. Then playing that tape over and over for the next few years. Nowadays you just go on youtube and do a search in seconds. These days the excitement and anticipation is gone, we are like spoiled kids now, getting new toys every day and throwing them away after 5 minutes because we are bored and overstimulated. When things come easy there is less satisfaction.

Guy is right about dropping 212 weight back down to 202. Hell id drop it 200 on the button. It would give so many people who turn pro in the lightweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and even heavyweight a place to compete as soon as they get their Pro card. If it would have stayed at 202 lunsford probably would have went right into the open, we would have seen Flex Lewis compete in the Olympia open etc. the open is always going to be the open. Guys walking around at 260 and squeezing into the 212 division because they know they can't do anything in the open is a mistake. Those type of guys should be going into the open and getting their feet wet. Not squeezing into the 212 where they can only stay there for a year or two. Drop it down to 200 or 202

If I may add to guys statement "It's good to know how active you are- IF you're a lazy bastard looking to increase activity". Being a fat bastard like myself, counting steps is a good way to gage just how many steps each activity is roughly*** the walking trail behind my house gives me about 5k steps, I walk that 3x a day and dont count steps anymore.

I'm so sick of hearing Nick say he's doing something the Dorian Yates way. Screw Dorian Yates, start doing things the Nick Walker way again. That's what got you there and that's what will keep you there. I don't understand it anyway because Dorian trained nothing like Nick, Dorian trained more like Branch. And Nick should realize that, because if you're not going to follow the training to the letter then you shouldn't be doing any of it because it's not the same. I truly hope Matt starts training with Nick and gets him closer to what he was doing when he took third. Look at the difference, did anyone ever hear Nick say he took a scheduled training day off? His mindset is just different and unless he's pushed it's not going to serve him well.

I think you should just start running at an easy pace and see if you actually enjoy it. If you do that for a couple of months, you can still get a watch and take it more serious. More important to find someone local to help you pick out some decent, well fitting shoes. You probably don't want to look like "all gear, no idea". Bet you love those types at the gym.

The fact is is you two are lazy. You barely walk around a thousand steps and then sit around and eat all day. The 30 minutes of cardio you get is equivalent of 2,500 steps. People are doing 10,000 steps and you are calling them lazy? In reality, people counting their steps are the ones that are leaner than both of you ever have been on stage
