This is my assessment of Nicki Minaj 2018. 1st- She doesn't know or have her own identity. Her response 2 weeks later with No Frauds was terrible..and notice how she had her co signers on the response track. 4- Cardi B's rise to fame right after she got Shethered. It has her bothered and shook at Cardi success. It was just she alone in the female rap game for so long time. She never had heavy competition..well except for maybe Iggy for a hot second. Nicki is struggling because she's been in the game for ten (plus?) years now. People call her a legend. She's put in her work. She's not handling the transition into her thirties well. Beyoncé is doing a great job at it. Rihanna seems to be on the right road. There comes a point when an artist music just doesn't connect with the public the way it did when they first hit the scene. If the artist has been putting in the work for the first 7 to 10 years of their career, they'll have that solid fanbase who'll grow with them, IF, the artist grows too. And they'll pick up new, young fans along the way. Nicki's performance at the BET Awards was not befitting for somebody of her level. Especially at the end as she crawled on the ground.
