So refreshing to see a metal drummer playing single bass. So much more musical than 99.99% of the double bass drummers out there.
@dmitryowens27 күн бұрын
For sure. I can't stand all these robotic new school metal drummers who use excessive super-fast double bass - it's so boring.
@kazarmageddon3 күн бұрын
Your opinion is kind of "popular" and "cool to have" nowadays. I appreciate it, however it is a matter of perspective and taste really. If it fits - it fits. I personally think some Iron Maiden songs would have sounded better with double bass drums - here and there. Again - matter of perspective. "Less is more" - another widely used cliche is not always true - but sometimes. It is a bit subjective, but yeah. Cheers.

WhoDarestheMAN gamer it really isn’t. He’s a phenomenal drummer and everything he plays isn’t “fucking easy”. He can do crazy things on the bass drum with only one foot. Wicker man for an example. That song is far from easy to play. And remember everything is recorded with a single pedal.
@valerio12923 жыл бұрын
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer either a stupid troll, either let's see you posting a video of yourself drumming to nicko's stuff, videogame boy
@ludwigblomqvist75313 жыл бұрын
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer You can send how many videos of ''a real drummer'' you want. All we want to see is you playing some drums since you're apparently a god. Btw does a song need to be difficult to be good? I mean Nickos drumparts are perfect for the songs he plays. There are more ways to be a good drummer than be able to play difficult drumparts!
@ludwigblomqvist75313 жыл бұрын
WhoDarestheMAN gamer but do you agree with me that playing difficult stuff isn’t the only way to be a good drummer?
@Legolion173 жыл бұрын
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer I've been playing for years and I still can't master his techniques. His masterful bass playing and his amazing fills are still such a wonder. You may be able to play a basic heat over an iron maiden song but by no means does that make his drumming "fucking easy" and yes, he ain't the most technical out there, but he doesn't have to be. He needs to be the drummer for the band. He plays well to the song, not lots of solo work. That's the mark of a great drummer, he helps the song sound better. Someone like Scott Lang wouldn't work as well because he's way too technical and wants to shove so much shit into one song, while Nicko plays the music to make the song better.

He doesn't play a double pedal unless it's a very recent addition to his set up. I saw something as recent as his Book of Souls set up and it's a single bass drum and a single bass drum pedal. Plus, if you pay attention to this video at 37:00 to 42:00 and beyond it becomes very evident in his words and playing that he uses a single pedal.
