Everyone runs a mile under six minutes most around five and a half. Me runs a 8 minute mile me: think I did pretty good

Even sub 4:20 runners are super rare if you're just looking in some local area. Odds of anything below 4:15 would be so small lol. And even if someone whos PR is 4:15 would probably still run 5-10 seconds slower in this event

Had a blast running this! First time running a timed mile in a loooong time. Happy with my sub 5 effort as a newly minted 40 year old. Gonna train up for another attempt this year, aiming to get back in to the 4:40's.

@@SethGeoghegan I have a best I made 20 years ago at 6:28 but I never really trained that hard. At 43 I started running again but after it started to hurt like hell I stopped like a wimp. I'm 45 now and want to get back into it! 1st goal is sub 7 :)

1500m is superior to the mile race. Why? If you run 69 seconds per lap, your time will 4:20 on a 400m track 😂

WTF?! The kid is like 10 and did a 5:50.... 7:30 6:50 At 1209m, he is at 4:27 (Banged out the last 400m in 1:23) He should be a 4:10 guy by graduation...full scholarship incoming. Gotta be stellar for his age in the 8 & the 4 (probably the 200, too). ...or he is 13 & really short, LOL.

Everybody runs under 4 or 5 minutes and I can barely run under 13 minutes last time I ran I got 12:00 minutes

7 is a pretty decent time, these people are actual runners. I’d keep that 7 minute but make sure you can keep that pace for 3-5 miles and it would be pretty safe to say you’re a healthy person. Most people can’t even run a 9 minute mile.

I ran track in high school 40 years ago and I still don't understand how a human being can run a half mile in 1:42... haven't run much since but you've inspired me to start training again. Thank you.
