I remember seeing Nicky at ADCC 2017, it was clear if the guy got the back, the RNC was a real threat. His path to victory was very simple but almost no one could stop him from doing it snapdown -> scramble for the back -> win on points or RNC. Now he has a legit wrestle up game from guard, S tier bodylock passing, and a real threat from almost every position: RNC, yoko sankaku, darce, outside and inside heel hook, katagatame. It'll be interesting to see this next period between now and ADCC 2024.

For real, faking the armbar and locking up the side triangle is a really smart tactic because it gets people to bunch up and make their shoulder easier to catch in the triangle. I’m gonna try to hit that in practice tonight
