I had an idea for new lore for a reworked Gragas where he is one of the last Hearthblood who goes on a journey through Runeterra to create the greatest beer that mortal hands can make to gain the favour of Ornn.

The worst part is that a redesign wouldn’t be too hard. Give him a modern model, LoR Avarosan aesthetic, give him a big, hearty smile and make him a merry, idealistic peacekeeper who hopes everyone will get along if they party together. Drunk Braum, basically.

I feel like Tahm Kench is a fat character that also feels powerful, that isn't played for a joke. Then again, I know nothing about character design, so maybe it's just me

If gragas was released in 2023, he'd be an old rival to mordekaiser who strayed across runeterra after his exile from noxus and his barrel would contain the demon of alcool and drinking it keeps him eternally young. Also he was there when the void did things

I'd love if he'd be more connected to jax, providing food and drink to the other others and journeys around to be the best brew master fight with his keg.

I love how the first kill of the video was a recreation of what happened to that guy in the tribe

Personally, I don't see an issue with Gragas. He's not a fat joke, he's a drunk joke. He's not like "I want to eat another cupcake", more like "I need another shot". And yes, being an alcoholic is an ilness, I'd rather ridicule alcohol usage, to discourage people from doing it, than to ridicule being overweight.

As a gragas main I will say that I think the short story does paint gragas in a sort of more serious light, like he is truly a master of his craft and so can tell when he’s being tricked. In game he just acts like a bumbling oaf, but at least the short shows a different side to gragas. I honestly think in the mmo he could serve as an interesting side quest character where you have to like find all the special ingredients for his beer or something, and riot could take the opportunity to expand on that different side of gragas. Also vandal gragas is actually a pretty cool skin that turns him more like roadhog in terms of looks (not voice lines unfortunately). In general he could definitely do with a new voiceover.

Gragas seems usually more to Obelix to me cause of how he is portrayed. Never really see him being fat as a negative. It's more of you aren't sure if you're suppose to take someone like Gragas serious due to him being fat til he starts kicking your ass.

My favorite part of Gragas’s lore is when he had that drink off with Lewis the gator where both of them drank so much that they forgot about it

I think they should already say (if they didn’t do this already) that Iceborns are immune or resistant to the cold in the Freljord. There is just too many naked characters there with Ashe, Udyr, Braum , Gragas, Tryndamere, Olaf etc.

my biggest issue with gragas is that he clearly has a purple liquid in his keg so it's either a type of wine or a spirit, it's definitely not beer

I really enjoy the idea of gragas being part ice troll, he has the same exact nose as trundle and can also handle the true ice

Your Soraka redesign really reminded me of what happened to Alexstraza in Heroes of the Storm. Similar archetype, but she went from generically thin to much more of a thiccer body (though I wouldnt say chubby for her. More like...heavy set?)

Kled is a better perpetually drunk joke-character than Gragas.

I feel like drunken masters in videogames are either ones that reached enlightenment through alcohol and require 4 hands and a galaxy brain to play, or are disgusting farting joke characters that run forwards and brawl, with pretty much no in between
